Well guys and girls, went to look at a ZXR400 yesterday. And i bought it :P Its an oldie but looks styled like most of the newer bikes. It ran beautifully, new exhaust, paint job and polished frame and swingarm. A few spares also.

Heres the advert if you want to see it:

Nice lookin' ride!   :thumb:

Looks like a big bike for 400cc's.   Is it as quick/quicker than the GS?
On those days when life is a little too much and nothing seems to be going right, I pause for a moment to ponder the wise last words of my grandfather:  "I wonder where the mother bear is?"

Cool man.  I like it!!!  :thumb:

No you didn't Pandy :) Hehe i can't stop grinning ear to ear  :icon_mrgreen: Its a beaut.

As i mentioned in another thread when i test rode one almost identical, it did 140mph in 6th at 14500rpm bouncing off the rev limiter  :icon_mrgreen: Torque isn't as large but its a different ride to the GS's i rode. I have to have it restricted down to 33bhp for 2 years which is an english law, this one puts out about 62bhp. Even with the restrictor in it limits top speed but mostly just top end acceleration, low end is untouched - they basically put washers in the carbs. Its 4stroke 16 valve water cooled. Will do 110mph with restrictors.

Its so pretty, i thought it was so modern when i saw it.

That resticted HP law is stupid.

I'm so glad we kicked your guys' ass in the Revolutionary War.

Do you call it the Revolutionary War over there?  Or do you call it the Got Whooped by the Yanks War?

Just curious.

It is stupid but it gets me an insurance discount £473/year TPFT. Which is excellent for a bike of that performance. I wish they didn't have the law, i might be tempted to just remove the restrictors early because to be honest its not really doing anything, you'll die if you have an accident over 100 anywhos, what does 40mph difference make.

Sweet ride!  God I wish the US had more options in low-displacement sports bikes.  If bikes like that were available here we would have far, far fewer newbies rolling out on supersports.

Il post pictures when i get it back - hopefully picking it up tomorrow. They are imports from Japan. There is fair few 400cc bikes here around that age but the ZXR is one of the rarer ones i was lucky to find it! Hehe it had been at £1100 for nearly the whole day and we never put a bid on, then we used auction sniper in the last 20 seconds which added £20 on and secured it for me  :icon_mrgreen:

Even though they are imports nearly all were setup with a clocks change kit and a kit which moves where the headlight points so its not pointing in drivers eyes because they come from Japan. Its gorgeous and sounds lovely with the new pipe it has. Unique colour and sticker set, alot ofpeople have said it looks like a ghey colour but i love it its individual.

If somebody tells you that is a ghey color, just feel free to punch them in the f*cking side of their neck.

And yes, I'm still drunk from last night.  And yes, I'm at work.

Well picked it up this afternoon. Well my dad did i had to work, plus i havn't got any insurence yet. I came back from work and got it out the garage and drove it up and down the drive way.

And yes pandy i had your voice in my head telling me even if im just goin 30 ft i need gear so i was guilted into putting it all on. It ran lovely especially with the micron exchaust. It sounds beautiful. You know when you first sat on a bike or went out onto the open road. You get that tingly feeling of all the power there is on your right hand and your scared to give it even the littliest twist. Well i had that hehe. Just running it up and down the drive it had immense power, faster than alot of 600's ive ridden up the a'field. I ran it up and down twice or 3 times maybe then put it streight back in teh garage for bed time.

Things it could do with now. The right hand side indicator comes on solid instead of flashing like the left one. So thats a little job to fix. Its had new chain and sprokets etc... so no problem there. I am probably going to do an oil change to make sure its all nice and clean - both engine and gearbox. However from the way it sounds and runs its running great.
