TDM's make great urban assault vehicles. They are much more common in CA, Bay area ... I knew of one whihc had 80K miles on it, all hard commute ... lane split, traffic button, bump a 100 cars each day and still held up well. Its sorta the GS'es bigger brother ... wish they had nakedised it ... Yea ugly ... but IMHO no uglier than an EX500 and a heck of a lot more character ...

Of course, the TDM got better looking when it evolved into the TRX850...



But, once bit, twice shy, and Yamaha didn't bother bringing the TRX stateside.  Just as well--what a torture rack!  The stylists' should be made to commute on their designwork daily!  Too bad...between the two bikes they had all the ingredients of a winner...they just couldn't get it right.    

...just think of all the attention the Kaw 650 is attracting for getting it right...

The F800S and F800ST (touring version with full lowers) are set to debut at the Milan motorcycle show tomorrow.  Where's that sugar daddy?

The more I read about the F800s the more I like it.  I think Roadstergal may have been on to something way back to last year.

The detractor, of course, is cost.  But 80 hp and tons of torque. 

And the looks are really growing on me.  Reminds me of the SV but will a few screws loose.

Also, it smacks of the super sexy new Beemer R1200S, which I covet. 

Dave: any updates on RG's whips?  Will she be pushing an F800S this fall?
