Ok, while I'm usually one to support my local shop, the small shops no longer stock tires because they can't sell enough, and the dealer overcharges too much for the tires and still charge to mount them. So, anybody have good online experiences with tire dealers. Thanks.

Looking for a Pilot Sport in a front 120/60-17. THanks.

try chaparral in cali.  They stock most all brands and sizes, plus shipping is $10 a tire flat-rate.

I haven't checked Chaparral's price, but Ron Ayers has your tire for $100.17 + a flat $8 per tire shipping charge.

To jump straight to the page for your particular tire, go to http://www.ronayers.com/browseparts.cfm?searchstring=4_PSF-02

As an added bonus for you, they're based in North Carolina.

I was gonna say http://www.swmototires.com because of free shipping on 2 tires but if your getting only one that Ron Ayers is cheaper. Just checked even with free shipping on 2 Ron Ayers is cheaper by about $10 with shipping. And in NC I think I will be getting the tires there!

Chaparral has the pilot sport for $99.97.  They also have the pilot road for $79.97.

Thanks guys. One more question for you. The tire I want comes in 3 different profiles -  60, 65, or 70.  What kind of difference in performance can I expect with each? I do mainly street riding with some track days, so I'm thinking the 70 might be best suited for me. The bike has a gixxer 750 rear shock, and 4" rear wheel with a 160/60-17 PIlot Sport on the back and a 1999 GSXR front end with the 3.5" wheel. Opinions?

Black Snowman

If I were you I'd go with the stock size for the GSXR front, ususally 120/70-17. That way you know the profile and width will match the rim and not give you any weirdness in the handling.
