Mysterious rattle buzz noise

ok so i went riding today. It was a good ride, but strangely my gs was very powerful, like I feathered the cluth and i stood it up.

Like, I was going like 70 in second gear. Crazy, Im not lieing, but any way, i was calling it a day and I was taking a back street back home, and I go slow on the streets by my house ..... so no one takes vengence on my bike for being loud.

Anyway i was going like 25-30 in 2nd or 3rd, and I heard a buzz or rattle, it was faint, but i let off the throttle and it went away. So I gave some gas and it came back then dissappeared.  So I figured out that there is this noise that sounds like its coming from the front wheel or the front sprocket. I know big difference.  And it happens at precisely at 3100 rpms.

Does any one have any suggestion or warnings.  I do need to change the oil, and lube the chain...which will be done tuesday. But its not like its way over due, It just came up last week.

ive had the bike for about a week and im getting basically the same thing.  except around 5-6k rpm its really pornounced.  it sounds like something is loose, but i can't find it.

Check the bolts that hold your front fender to the fork "brace" thing. One of mine ended up being rattled out and I got a weird buzz rattle sound, especially over potholes and bumps.

Mine does it around 5-6 too. It's the front brake pads vibrating in the caliper.

that's probably just the harmonics of our little gs... happens on most GS's from about 5-6k.

The 5-6k rpm vibration is normal.

The 3100 rpm vibration is not.  Could be the front wheel ball bearings screaming as they smack into each other...just kidding.
