Problem with the Bandits and the VMax - crap for handling, comparatively. Ancient suspension.

I'll agree with you on the V-Max, not really a sporting bike as much as a dragster, but I don't know if I'd call the Bandit ancient.  They can. and will hang with newer bikes in almost every venue.  That all-conquering lump makes up for any perceived lacking.  He said he wanted a wicked fast bike, and a warmed over Bandit will do the trick.  Then, when maturity comes, work on the suspension, and you've got an even better bike.  nsurance on the Bandit should also be very good.

No mild steps for me  :icon_lol: I want it to tear my shoulders out of their sockets.

The Z1000 actually looks obtainable! And I've heared good things about its' suspension, and it is only 437lbs!

Also it does 120hp stock.

The Vmax is too much of a porker for me. Being 580lbs. But I have heard good things about the V-Boost system. Each cylinder beathes off TWO carbs :)

Actually being that the Z1000 is my dream bike (and now looks even better now that I know more about it) I may have to focus on that!

here's a video shot from spectators perspective of a previous trackday:

the guy I'm mixing it up with, Greg, is on a first gen bandit 1200. only issue with 1st or 2nd gen bandits is ground clearance when you're at superbike pace on the track.

all the regular guys I ride with I met through the bandit forum at maximum-suzuki.com and they all haul ass.

That looks like a lot of fun. It looks like you had him in the corners but his bike was outmuscling you. I daresay though, your cameraman could use a tripod.

The VMax wasn't amde to handle...yamaha has no problem admitting their sole purpose with the bike was to make something with a nice, relaxed seating position that would go real fast in a real straight line.

The Bandit, though...no man, the Bandits are monsters all over the place.  I'm not sure who told you they handle for shaZam!, but I assure you, they were mistaken.
