Short video of a motorcycle accident. Can someone please explain what they think causes the crash? It looks to me like the first guy locks up the rear wheel then the second guy brakes in a turn. I know motorcycle crash videos are horrible but I try to learn from them

supermoto style riding, wayyyy different than what street bikes do. he was supposed to stay more upright, used his foot to keep from low siding and kind of "drifted" around the turn

That was not supermoto style riding.

The first guy crashed because his rear tire slipped. He panicked and stuck his foot down (and probably forgot to carry his throttle through) and the tire caught up again after it stopped spinning as much and caused him to highside. Had he looked through the turn and held his throttle he might have made it. I've seen bikes drift through turns before, so it isn't impossible.

The second guy crashed because he panicked after seing his buddy go down and probably freaked out and braked mid-turn, washing out the front. Probably riding above their skill level.

They were riding for the camera and showing off.  Besides f%$king up their bikes, they are now on the internet for all the world to laugh at.

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?
