The fender bracing is also not for the BSA's, Nortons, or Triumphs...

I guess it depends on whether you consider the term crotch rocket to be an appearance nomer or a performance nomer.

I consider it a crotch rocket because it looks like a sportbike, rather than a cruiser, or a goldwing type touring bike.

From Wikipedia:

QuoteCrotch rocket is a slightly derogatory term for a sports bike. The name is derived from the way the rider sits on the bike and from the speed and acceleration these bikes are capable. A sports bike's foot pegs and shifter are located further back than conventional or a 'cruiser' motorcycles; this puts the rider in a position that is more streamlined and aerodynamic and places the rider's crotch in very close contact with the seat.

These machines are also called donor cycles (also 'murder cycles') by ER trauma surgeons, as they are typically ridden by young men in excellent physical condition, whose organs are highly suitable for transplantation should they die in an accident involving one.

I would say no.

the F model is definately a crotch rocket even if it is a wannabe crotch rocket to the trained eye.

the E model is probably not considered a crotch rocket unless you rip by someone at 9,000rpm, they may think otherwise.

I've had a couple people call my E a crotch rocket, probably because they were ignorant about the many types of motorcycles ("It has to be a harley or a crotch rocket").

I consider the E to be a standard or sport standard and the F to be the same thing with plastic on it... or maybe a sport tourer, they usually have fairings too and the more upright seating position

My ZXR400 has been called by everyone a crotch rocket.

I think a crotch rocket would have to be physical size would be small, low seat height, not incredibly heavy with full fairing and very good rwhp.

Also i think low capacity engine producing lots of HP would make it a crotch rocket (eg small but packs some punch) ZXR400 400cc 65hp  :icon_twisted: 140mph = crotch rocket

I refer to it as a bottle rocket or a supper bike.

Mak- I posted a pic of that bike on that vintage bike UK site and this is the answer I got.

" Yes I think you are right, the bike is either a BSA A7 (500cc) or A10 (650cc).

It does seem to have some non-standard parts fitted."
