There are so many threads about going down... I might aswell make one about who manage to stay up! Theres a saying.." Theres only 2 type of riders, ones that have been down and ones that WILL go down" what do you guys think?? How long have you been riding and stayed up? When was your first spill?

hey thirdman

its not the sol solar system

Solar  is the name of our specific STAR system.

So an alien race on a nother planet, would be in a different star system not solar system

How long have you guys been riding for? I heard the stats say its almost a must that one will fall once in ten years if your luckey... I just think its how you ride... If you are in to riding just for the air and open roads and ur always crusing then your chances are for sure lower then a guy the wants to take corners faster and rides more aggrsive...

grass and gravel have been my mortal enemy!@!!!!

Codger

Just under 8,000 miles on the GS.  Pushed the front once, slid the back once, kept plastic up the whole time.  None on GS
DRZ, gravel front end push, rear power spin sand over concrete.  Both low speed low sides.

Finished MSF in March, 3000 miles since and haven't gone down yet.  Although the patch of oily sand I hit and the time when my chain broke and locked my rear tire up made for pretty close calls...

afplayboy18

only been riding a few months...havent gone down yet.

according to biker boyz there are 3 kinds of riders:  those that havent been down...those that have been down...and those that are gonna go down... :flipoff:

Actually it was:

"Well I guess there are 3 kinds then:  them and ME"

<3 that movie.

not a single one outside of screwing around...like trying to drift a ninja 250 (stuff like that doesn't count)

So far, 6 months, 3000 miles, no drops/accidents. i don't dwell on it, but being in group 1 still makes me nervous when i think about it.
Don't sweat the petty things...and don't pet the sweaty things.

Unnamed

None. But since I've never had my engine running while I wasn't in neutral, my total might be a little lower.

Very first time out on my bike (50cc when i was learning) i was with the instructer, all was going really well until a car saw my L-plates and ramed into me trying to beat me into a junction so he didnt have to wait behind me. I went off into a grass verge, no injuries and just a cracked panel. The driver sped off and my instructor didnt catch his plate. Arsehole car drivers. Since that 1st day out i havnt crashed yet (8500 miles 2 bikes)

Had a low side on a dirtbike, it just dug in and fell over in some thick mud but meh dirt bikes don't count  :thumb:

I have 10,000Km on my 04 and so far so good, though I guess one day it will happen, and when it does I hope I won't be punching my ticket.

I haven't been down on my GS or the 350 dual sport I had years ago. Well I did have to lay the dual sport down climbing a super steep hill but that was offroad. Also never wrecked a car in almost 20 years of driving. So the moral of the story is if you believe someone when they tell you that you will crash, you just might. So don't listen to it. :icon_lol:

Caffeine

I dumped the first GS in a friend's driveway the day I bought it.   Other than a few very near misses, I have remained shiney side up.  I know my day will come, I just hope it doesn't hurt much!

Remember:

1.  Speed equals skill.
2.  One more drink will keep you loose and improve your riding.
3.  Cops just turn on the blue lights to show off.  Ignore them.
4.  The gas tank is a good place to stand when lane-splitting at 80 MPH.
On those days when life is a little too much and nothing seems to be going right, I pause for a moment to ponder the wise last words of my grandfather:  "I wonder where the mother bear is?"
