Do leather pants stretch?

I have a chance to buy Teknics leather pants really cheap, they fit well everywhere except the waist which would be uncomfortable riding(yeah, well, a pound a year since I was 127lbs still only  = 165).
So here's the question: the waist is about an inch too small, the pants are new......will they stretch that much? Not much chance I'll shrink.
PS They'll only be used for bike riding, heh.

Leather may stretch if you put it on some kind of stretching machine but just wearing them I highly doubt it. You could take it to an alteration shop and have them put some elastic in the waist. My pants are elastic all around the top and it works great I can go from boxers to bulky jeans and the waist takes it up just fine and could easily stretch more!

Like JasonB said, take it to get altered... but probably need to get the seam along the side split a little and a thin elastic triangle put in there to for a good fit.  Along with the elastic waistband.  How do I know this?  Sometimes I visit my friend while she works in the maternity clothes store and some of the prego pants are made like that.  Heh.

Just don't get them wet and have a Ross/leather pants incident like on 'Friends'!  :P

hehe "use baby powder!"

My leather pants have a silky like liner inside so my body never touches the leather, feels good when you just have some boxers on and the air is coming thru the knee vents...well lemme stop the description there, cause right now its so muggy out I could ride nekkid and I'd end up sticky.

Shoulda stopped typing a few sentences back but oh well!

There wasn't another way to ask the ##### question to avoid the cheap gibes, but that's what  friends are for ....right? right?
Maybe I'll just do the Ronnie Hawkins thing and travel with my zip down  8)
Hardly advisable in winter, though  :? .
Doesn't even bear thinking what that kind of road rash whould be like!
