With my GS haha no.  Just bought a CBR F3 a couple weeks ago so I decided to go cruising around on Wannamaker (a road here in town where everyone cruises/ races).  So yeah ridin along and I see this yellow corvette ahead of me then I go to turn around and go back down Wannamaker the other way and I guess the guy in the vette waited for me or someone else either way we turned onto Wannamaker side by side. And I went to pass the guy and he started giving it some gas so I was like yay someone to play with and gave the bike a bit of gas too but, it really didnt last long it was over before I got out of second which is also what it all started in.  That wasnt too exciting though but next red light we get side by side so when the light turned I just kinda started off slow to see if he was going to go or not and he did so I leaned on the tank and gave the bike everything it had and killed him by the time first gear was gone so, I just shifted to fourth and rolled into a parking lot to let the bike cool off that and I was shaking real bad.  But yeah that was fun.  My $2600 bike whooping his $50k car with almost 10 times the displacement. And I get a hell of alot better gas milage  :).

I didn't believe a Vette weighs that much so I looked it up.  Yup, sure enough, just about 3200 lbs.  Wow, my 4-door AWD hunk of steel family sedan weighs 3200 lbs and can make almost as much power as the Vette.  HAHA wow and I was always scared of them in a straight line.

ANYWAY, even with the new Z06 it wouldn't have had a chance, until about 130mph

I think your CBR could beat just about any car south of $300k off the line... nevertheless it is still a good feeling  :thumb:

Good story none the less!

It was a C5.  Ive barely seen any C6's around here much less a Z06.  I got to test drive a C6 in a parking lot with some pissed off Austrailian guy in there.  I wasnt really impressed but then again it was in a parking lot. I like my bike better.

Oh yeah I think the guy i bought my CBR from said the guy before him changed the sprockets or a sprocket but I dont know for sure so, maybe that had something to do with it.  The guy in the vette couldnt really drive either he spun the tires after shifts but I still dont think him not doing that woulda helped him much.

 hell of a lotta difference between an ls1 (350 hp) and the ls7 (505 hp) vettes  ;)

batmx3man

The the C5 Z06's had 400 hp. The 350 hp was whatever the other non Z06's had.

I don't think you can really compare a car to a bike though. Two completely different things. You may be faster in a straight line, but I bet that corvette could out corner you.

Maybe but I just got the bike so Im not quite used to it in the corners and who couldnt drive a car to its limits through a corner not so much fear of screwing up (nice big steel cage to protect you instead of fractions of an inch of fabric).

And for those of you who fear these Z06's heres the 1/4 mile time from road and track magazine
"the Z06 dispatches the quarter-mile in 12.3 sec. at 116.6 mph".  <---- Thats a C6 (505hp 427 cu in.) mind you.

From bikez.com I found the CBR F3's 1/4 mile time is 11.3 sec. but Im not really sure I trust that site too much so Ill look around some more.

Along with the comment on the car being quicker through the turns given not the same vehicles but both professional drivers/riders, if not, alot closer than me.  And arent the 600's supposed to be better handling than the litre bikes.

Most all sports cars and out handle a bike. If you have equal rider/driver.

Aight well I found two more sources for the 11.3 1/4 mile time on the F3 so I guess thats got to be about right and an 11.7 from some guys personal review of the thing.

Nah, I was thinking stock performance and I don't think there are too many stock cars out there that can rip a 600cc SS off the line.  You would need a pretty light car with a pretty powerful engine to come close to the power to weight ratio of a bike.  I think if you want that kind of performance you're looking into the super car range. (the Carrera GT, one of the fastest cars tested on Top Gear, does the 1/4 in 11.4 seconds, and is $440k msrp)

But yeah there are Supras and Vettes and Vipers that can smack around a 'busa, but that's cause they're making 800-1000 bhp and they aren't very stock.

Can a sports car really out handle a sport bike?  I kinda want to call BS on that.  I've always been under the impression bikes were more nimble than cars, but maybe I'm wrong.

carrera 4 against r1= carrera wins around a track. on top gear

edit: i still belive that you cannot really compare a bike and a car. they are different. we all know MOST bikes are faster in a straight line. but on a track, it doesn't take too much of a car to beat it.
