Asking about mods to make your bike look different is one thing.   Doing 102 on a public road is not smart.  One mistake at that speed and you could end up in a bodybag.

Look, we all do stupid things some times. Just be sure if you go fast like this that you try and do it AWAY from traffic and wear all your gear. Cars hurt.

Now, I can't be all hypocritical and Buddha Loves You at you, as I've topped the bike out before. However, when I do it is usually on deserted back roads with no cars in sight behind me or in front of me. If I go down I am not taking out anyone but myself. I did hit 110 on I-35 recently (see my 14T sprocket thread) and I was following traffic; this traffic was following an officer going that fast (probably got distracted and put his foot down a bit) and they were all well enough ahead of me that I had enough reaction time for me.

Just be safe and don't get hurt, okay? Don't ride that fast unless you KNOW you can handle that sort of speed and REACTING if something goes wrong.

holy crap. Remember how everybody trashed you in your other thread, and a few stood up for you, and said you weren't a squid, just cuz you like to look cool? I think this made up everyone's minds. I suppose everyone opens her up just once. I had mine to about 110 indicated, on Alligator Alley, at night, with no traffic anywhere. Anyone in Florida will know what the alley is. But from now on, do those speeds on the track, ok? Please, please, please tell me you were wearing full gear?

Werd. I'd seen 125 (indicated) on the gs...on a public (very deserted middle-of-the-desert road), briefly. Matty-remember that the speedo is inaccurate by anywhere from 15%-14% so your 102 could have been 90 or less.

Yeah, I'm sure most (or a lot) of us have had the bike up to 100 on public roads.

There are a couple of valleys around here (and even more on the east side of the state) where the roads are straight and flat free and clear and visible for several miles in every direction, as well as all the roads leading to them.  Hard to see a reason not to wring it out, just to see how high it will go.

Just don't make a habit of it.
