I´ve reached 190km~h of real speed (measured with my VEYPOR), and on the stock velocimeter i was reading around 220km/h....

Well, none of us on the Gap trip can complain too much, 'cause we were movin' at 90+ on the Cherohala at times.   O0

The fastest I've gone so far was a couple of weeks ago on our local "mayor's ride".  It's basically a parade/cruise through our town that takes a run down our local air strip.  It's over a mile long, and I hit 125+ indicated on my bike before I closed her down.     Remember, though, that this was a sanctioned event, totally legal, and on a closed course.  Don't try this at home!!  :nono:
Something is wrong with my twin...all of a sudden it's V shaped!  Wait, no, now it's a triple!  ...and I IZ NOT a postwhore!

It's not exactly my back yard, but this kind of setup works nicely  :icon_rolleyes:

 at people getting bent out of shape about topping out a GS500. Post on the Gixxer or Kawi forum and it usually takes at least 140mph to get the squid-callers to come out.
Well, I guess 105 on a GS suspension is a helluva lot scarier than 140 on a Gixxer.

Bet you could top out the gs500 to its absolute max between map point 3 and 4 and the road sign 80 (sorry dont understand american road markings)

Funny that you should mention Map Point 3!  Here is the photo that I took there.  Can you say "Salt Flats"?  :) (The actual speedway is off the photo to the right ... I think. :dunno_white:)

That stretch of Interstate 80 ("I-80" in conversation) between Salt Lake City and Wendover is arrow straight.  Ideal for "testing" your bike, except that it is usually well-patrolled.  See, Wendover (on the Nevada side of town) is the closest place where SLC dwellers can go to gamble their livelihoods away in a casino.  That makes for a lot of angry drunks coming home late at night!  :nono:

My first 115mph run was near the county line halfway between Map Point 2 and American Fork.   Nothing out there except, well, deer!  :o

Long way round is not carried by Blockbuster nor Movie gallery in my area.

now I REALLY want to see it... It looks like its a documentary series about these "actors" making a trip around the world on bikes. But I think they play themselves...is that right?

anyway, now I have to find a copy...

It IS a documentary...  Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman ride motos around the world...

It's really crazy to watch them change...  They're different people at the end.

Netflix has it...  And so does Amazon...  There are two versions, the 7 episode and the 10 episode...  I've only seen the 7ep and I'm planning to buy the 10ep version at some point.

ride it like you stole it!!!! I hve barely managed to get my 92 up to 90 laying down on the gas tank. Of course thats still 15 over the speed limit. I have been inspired by this thread and am gonna do my jets this weekend. Then maybe my 190lb lead butt can join the rest of the squids. Oh wait that would mean forgoing the Helmet, gloves and armored jacket and riding in shorts and flip flops.

There is something wrong with it.
Taxes are Good. Millions that have been on Welfare for the last 30 years are depending on you. Also Millions that are coming over the border each year are depending on YOU.
Also taxes will fix our shitty schools and roads that have been broken for 40+ years.

You really don't get it do you???

Yeah it needs jetted badly. It's leaner than hell the electrodes on the plugs are almost as white as the ceramic. I have also read that it may have restrictors in the slides since it was origanally bought for a teenager. And I am sure a good clean out in the carbs will help as well. I was told it sat for a few years. Before I replaced the plugs with the proper plugs and installed the new K&N foam air filtrt it would barely make 70. I can feel it starving for fuel when I twist it wide open at 75 and up.
