OK so flange shows up.
On an 01+ bike (any year than has a header pipe change diameter down at the bottom of the header is what I refer to as new ...
Your flange box will have N on its end ... hand written, by me ... That's how you know not to panic.
You need to slice the header exactly where it becomes bigger ... leave as much of the head pipe as you can, the more the better seal ...
Then sand the header ... and for god's sake, dont slice your hands open on the flange, its got plenty of rough spots ... my way of combatting inflation ... as in ... welder didn't raise rates if he didn't have to grind off the burr ...  :thumb: ... and sand it too ... then shove the flange on the header and see where it fits ... it shouldn't clobber the swingarm or hit the foot peg carrier or what not ... Then bolt the can and hang it with the hanger clamp and voila ... you got a can ...
Then maybe if you wanna clamp it down, get a 2 inch muffler clamp and do it. or weld it up ... possibly tack it on the bike, then take it all off and weld it.

89-00 - same procedure ... except ... there is no 2 diameter pipe, you just leave 4-5 inches from the Y and slice the header ... then the rest is as above.
Your box has o on the end. So you know not to panic.

What if you have a old bike but your flange says N .... or you have a new bike and your flange says o ...
OK you're not screwed ... you might have to definetly get it welded or clamped or something. BTW so far ... no one has got the wrong one ... But as I sell out ... you may ... and I'll tell you ahead of time I am out of one or the other.
Cool.

Look at my avatar ...
I used to make those bars that lay flat and fit a GS like a glove ... and give you that agressive speed racer position ...
Then the 01+'s had to have different ...
Then I made those ...
Now we have a new idea and it will fit 90- 07 bikes like a glove.
Stay tuned ...
Now anyone have a flange based question ???
Cool.

He can't just "make clipons", without machining a new tripple clamp.  The bars he makes are positioned a lot like clipons.
