So the shock is from 2001. I see those 4 numbers that indicate rebound setting. But on my shock i can turn the adjuster around many times  . Is this normal or my shock is broken? After turning some 5 turns around my shock got so stiff that i almost damaged my internal organs when riding on rough road. So it works in a way.

Maybe this is new feature for newer shocks?. Other places i saw people talking settings "1,2,3 out of 4 possible" But mine has a lot more possibles

Anyone with katana shock able to turn the rebound adjuster around more than once wants to calm me that it is normal? 

My '01 Kat shock just came in. I can rotate the clicker around as much as I want.

It goes from 1 to 4, then back to 1; that's my assumption at least.

So I got to thinking about it...

The rotating dial has holes in it of varying sizes. When you rotate the dial, the hole lines up with the hollow tube along the center of the shock. However much oil is let through that hole is how the rebound is adjusted. No matter how many times you spin it around, the hole is lined up with its number.

How much do you weigh and how do you have yours set up?

I weigh 59kg and have it set at preload 4, rebound 2.
