Well....ahem....I kind of like my gear to match, too  (that's my nod to squidliness ), so I...ahem...do rather understand where our new friend is coming from. 

But safety must trump fashion! (until one can afford to be safe AND a fop! ) 

Well i still attribute it to fashion.

Any gloves are more fashionable than road rash and such.
