Hi guys and gals,

My name is Kevin and I just wanted to introduce myself to the community. I just bought a 92 gs500 and i love it. The rush from riding is indescribable. I hope to maybe meet some of you people in person but i just want to say thanks for all the knowledge that is here. I've already learned a lot.

Thanks

Kevin

Welcome! Yours looks a lot like mine.  Mine is red, too - it's a 93 and they look pretty similiar except the shape of the stripes is different.  Here's a pic - http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/234360/.

How many miles is on yours? Mine has close to 14K.  And what model is your front tire? Reason I ask is that when I bought mine the front was the original. Tread was still good but the 11 year old  (at the time) rubber was hard as a rock and pretty checkered. The tread pattern on your looks familiar, was wondering if it was the original too.  I changed mine out the following spring after I bought it.

That has to be one of the nicests GS's we have on the board currently.

Welcome!  We share the same model bike, but I gotta say that yours is SO much cleaner than mine.  One of the prior owners was doing something with the decals on the rear panels.  It seemed like they were removing half of the big decal and leaving the GS500E name on.  Anyhoo, the panels looked crappy so I decided to remove the decals completely.  I'm still in the process of removing all the adhesive left behind.  After that I may consider cleaning the rest of the bike in a vain attempt to come close to yours.

Do you know what mods besides the pipe were done on yours?

Welcome again!

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Welcome,
A '92 with 3950 miles? Nice find. Very clean. Have fun riding. Remember to be safe though. Thats number one, keep in mind, there are SAFE ways to drive the tires off the thing and have a blast.

 I'm always happy to see someone give an old GS a chance. Boy, I love new members.

P.S.  Move to PA if you feel inclined. We never have enough GSers up here.
