Just wanted to say thanks for all your advice and help.  The bike is back with the original owner and I have the money, in cash, in my hand.

  Thats sweet, but at the same time it sucks.

Well I haven't given up on bikes entirely yet.. it just may be a while before I try to get one.  At some point I will get one (that I can ride).

Glad everything worked out for you    Make sure you let Pastrami know too she was feeling bad about this whole thing.  And altho this was a bad ( not strong enough word ) expierence for you,  you can learn from it whenever you buy your next bike / car.

That's awesome that things went well!  Now...take 1K of that money, and go buy an older, nekkid GS, and put the rest in the bank!  

I never liked naked bikes.  I like that sportbike look.

Glad to hear things went ok.. well, I guess things went FUBAR.. then became semi-ok... glad I don't have to drive out there and beat the crap out of this guy.. but can I come do it anyway?

I have no more ties to the guy, so by all means beat the hell out of him if you feel it's necessary.

I think I'll wait a year or two and then maybe pick up an SV650 or the Ninja 650.
