Hi Chris,

                     First of all I'd like to apologize for the madness going on on the
                     messageboard. If there is some way to remove your complaint from paypal,
                     please do so. I responded with a tracking number, however I shipped the
                     chain USPS and they do not provide a tracking number for packages
                     insured under $50. I had a race weekend this weekend and this (right now) has
                     been my first opportunity since Thursday to actually log on to the
                     internet.

                     The shipping was 13.45, and I shipped the chain today. If you wish I
                     can fax you the receipt if you send me your fax number.

                     Basically there is no code in the gstwin.com messageboard which checks
                     for duplicate user names, so I made a name that was already present and
                     ended up logging in to the other guy's account.

                     I did this by emailing the webmaster to let him know I could not log
                     into my account. So he changed the password... which changed it on both
                     accounts (somehow they became interconnected). Now I can't log on to the
                     messageboard anymore, since I don't really have an account.

                     Not my fault, but I don't want people thinking I'm a criminal or con
                     man. I already asked one guy to post this to the site, but if you can
                     also do so that'd be great.

check thread in for sale section: someone posted about parts for sale and turned out to be duplicate member ID's so theres some confusion about where money went, etc...

nah just the miracle of wireless....

I take my machine (laptop or pocket pc - both wireless enabled) to the "man's room" and catch up on my daily news in electronic form.

The system should not allow someone else to post with someone elses id unless the other person does not have a password and just a login id. But I am checking into things.

I also verified that there was no duplicate davidGS, in fact there is nothing close to it.  I did change his password and log into the system as him and make a test post -everything worked fine.

I don't understand what the issue is unless he has some cookies that need to be flushed and login fresh.

I once again changed his password which I will PM you Manjul and you can try to help david login and reslove this issue.

I just find it hard to believe the problem lies with this board, but with the php problems we had a couple weeks ago maybe there was a big hiccup somewhere.

I have an 89. I am not selling any parts. I got several emails from people saying that they wanted to buy parts from me. I then found that someone else was posting under my name.

I have had to reset my password twice already because someone else keeps resetting it and changing it.

It is simple. Someone posted as me on this board. He is emailing with tricked500 but it is not me.

Is there a way to record a user's IP address for every post, and store it with the post itself?  It's a little late for that to solve this issue, but might help if the issue happens in the future.  

Granted, many people have DHCP, which causes IP addresses to change regularly, but if you do a tracert, you're at least likely to land at the same gateway every time, for the same user.  Worse comes to worse, you tracert a number of posts from the user and look for similarities.
