Really the GS isn't a rip snorter and it will take alot of work to make it one.

I'd rather reliability and handling.

The only mod I've done is replace the stock (crap) springs with Sonic 0.85mm/kg springs.

Later I'll give it a fenderectomy and that's it.

When I want a faster bike I'll get a GSXR-1000!
