Dremel is a must have when tinkering with a motorcycle, and for some reason or another I dont have one.
Any suggestions on what is the best brand, best deal, and what stores carry the cheap ones.I dont need the 200 differnet atachements, just cutting wheel and a few drill bits, mabey a griding stone.

Dremel is  brand name. Made by Craftsman.

Go to any good hardware store and they will carry a selection of Dremel brand products.  My recommendation would be to get a corded one, as the cordless Dremel is totally useless.  They have a 'starter kit' type of thing that comes with the Dremel tool, a carrying case, and a crap load of cutting attachments for fairly cheap; just go take a look and you'll figure out which is the best to get.

I agree that the old version of the corless Dremel was useless, but I have the new cordless one that uses a lithium ion battery and it works great and has tons of power.

hmmm... good to know, I'll have to check that out... I have the NiCd Dremel and that thing was just a waste of money; goes 5 whole minutes and needs to be charged

get a rotozip instead. more powerful 

I have a Black and Decker Dremel knockoff and it works very well, and takes all the standard Dremel attachments. 

I use to have the rechargeable Black and Decker version and it worked alright, but it was damn frustrating when the battery died half way through, it also didn't seem to have the same power as the corded version. 

I think Dremel has become generic name like Hoover or Allen. Most of the major power tool manufactures make something similar but like most things you pay for what you get.

Get one with a variable speed, it has really been useful for me.

Stay away from some of the lower line models like Ryobi. I have seen some that lasted less than a year. My Dremel is probably over 10 years old. I abuse it and it still runs like new.

I have a dremel brand (corded) and have used it for 12 years.  I use it alot in that I do wood carving as a hobby and the dremel is on of my stable tools.
