Ride to Work

common sense

I rode my bike to work a couple days ago, so my dad could use my SUV to take family to the airport. I usually don't ride since rush hour traffic in Houston is pretty brutal, especially in 95F+ degree weather. So on the way home, it takes me over 20 minutes to get out of the garage, which is already hot enough, then add another 15 mins out in the sun in bumper to bumper trying to make my way to the freeway directly under the sun. Definately not fun. So I make it to the intersection that leads to the HOV lane. It's a left turn yield on green type thing, so I'm waiting for a chance to make my turn (yielding as the sign tells me to), and some idiot feels the need to honk at me as he passes me on the right (pretty close and fast might I add). At that point, I had probably the largest case of road rage that I've ever had. Thoughts ran through my head of following the guy to the next light and demanding him step out of the car. Everyone's a big shot inside the car, let's see who actually wants to get out and say something.  :icon_twisted: Anyways, I don't actually follow through with this, I wait for a while and eventually get on the HOV lane. Take a nice couple curves onto the HOV, get up to 70mph or so and instantly feel better. Don't think anything works better than the bike for stress relief!  O0 Made it home feeling pretty great!   :thumb:
Just my vent.

Yeah...  Road Rage and Motos don't go together...

I had a cager a-hole pass me in MY lane on the freeway...  :2guns: I caught up to him while honking and road on the shoulder next to him and flipped him off for about a 1/4 mile... :nono:  Don't do that... :nono:  All he had to do was swerve a little and I'd be in the ditch. :nono:

Makes the deer and semis on my commute seem pretty boring.

Good on ya for not doing anything stupid. Starting a fight with a 5000 lb vehicle is not tremendously bright.

i had a guy on a harly decide to race me then cut me off while i was driving my sh*t beater... (95 ford aspire.. aka the turtle)
makes the same left turn i do with out using the signal on his bike or a hand signal.
then he speeds up to past the posted limit only to slow way down below the limit so im instantly on his butt.
im like screw this, so i pass him.. what does he do, he flips me off.. i just shook my head thinking you friggin idiot.
no wonder harly riders have a bad name. the idiot had no idea that i ride, and that if i did what he did to a cage ida prolly had my rearend run over or run off the road.
