Sorry I thought the pot hole didn't do the damage but the grass covered sewer opening did.

Have fun An! And while you there ask a pretty lady to dinner.  If ones there.

I'll defintely ask a pretty girl out if there's one there tomorrow.  That way I'll know I'll never see her again after I make a complete fool out of myself trying to ask.

Guess what??? YOU PASSED!!!!!

Hey!  You found me! :thumb:

Hey guys...  This is my rider coach from today's class. ( I appreciate everything you and Paul did today!  We defintely had a great group of riders)

Motorace has tires for our GS's that he told me about.  I wish I knew about these BEFORE I hit that pothole last month.  If I remember correctly, he's got FRONT AND REAR for $130 or $140...  Michelin's I think.

Sure beats buying stock tires from the dealer for $160 for the rear.

Back to the ERC...  I was kinda surprised that there weren't as many "sports bikes" there today.  Actually, I was the ONLY one with one.  There were some great looking HD's there (One looked like it had custom EVERYTHING...  He had custom rims with a great pattern and custom rotors to match.  He also had the "fins" on the engine block engraved with details)

My favorite was a Honda Nighthawk 650 (maybe 750...  Can't remember).  I loved how the taillight flowed with the rear plastics, unlike our GS taillights that stick out from a hole in the plastics.

I can say this though...  I WILL NEVER COMPLAIN AGAIN OF HOW MY GS500F SOUNDS LIKE A LAWNMOWER...  EVER!!!  Seeing those Honda Nighthawk 250's "zooming" by...  The sound of my GS is like sweet music.

I forgot to mention one thing...  After taking the ERC, my opinion that EVERYONE should take the MSF has grown stronger.

No matter if you plan on riding or not, it helps GREATLY.  For all riders, the ERC is a HUGE benefit.  It gave me a chance to "re-learn" the stuff I forgot from the BRC, and helped me improve my riding.

What's my proof???

I dragged a peg today!!!  FIRST TIME!!!   WOOOOT!!! :) :thumb:

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

No...  I didn't ask any girl out.

Why you ask???

There was only one female there, a bit older, and she was taking the course with another guy.

There were some girls in the BRC class, but they were about 100 yards away.  Our instructors advised us to stay as far away from them as possible.  There was a line of tall cones that seperated the ERC from BRC.

I just passed my BRC and was thinking of taking the ERC next year after I have ridden for a while. What things did you go over in the class? It is just one day, correct?

Here in MA, it is a six-hour class in one day.

This is what I remember the most:

  • Figure 8 (or sometimes called two U-turns...
  • Swerving
  • Emergency Stopping
  • cornering
  • BEST PART:  A mini track run...  The best way I can describe it is a kidney bean shaped course.  This creates an "S" curve to help develop a quick turn to the other side.

Basically, it is everything that the BRC course did, except much more riding, and no basic "how-to-ride" stuff, like how to countersteer.  That was the only excercise we didn't do from the BRC.

I just took the ERC today. It was friggin hot out, so by the end everyone was pretty beat, but the class was great. There was only one other sportbike in the class today, another GS owner  :thumb: the rest were on crusiers, with one beemer tourer in there.

Since it had been 10 years since I took the BRC, today's class was a great refresher.

Both the BRC and ERC went through a major revision a few years ago. This is my tenth year teaching so I have seen both the old and new courses. Both are very good. The old ERC had a very good classroom module while the new one does not. However, the new ERC range course is MUCH better.

Both the BRC and ERC changed how adults were to be taught to be better riders, and how we as rider coaches presented the information.

Everyone can benefit from a little extra eduaction.  :)
