It was my fault.  3 of us were riding today and I was following sigh's for a state highway.  We came up on a 4 way stop with a light accross the stop light was a gas station on the right.  We were riding in a stagger formation I was on the left, wife behind me on the right and my dad behind her on the left. 

As we came down the road I was scanning for wich direction the highway went, and I didn't see one, the light was green so we went through the light and I decided I would pull into the gas staion to ask which way the highway continued.

I slowed down and turned into the parking lot of gas station, cutting off my wife ( I didn't use my turn signal ) pulling into the gas staion was a last second decision.  And I didn't realize she was that close to me.

She pulled in her front breaks a bit hard I guess I didn't see it because I was in front, did hear her rear tire making a screeching sound. 

My dad said her rear tire came up off the ground about 2 feet.

Got my ass chewed kinda by wife, my dad was real pissed at me  ( he thinks more of her as a daughter ), for pulling into the gas station without useing my turnsignal.  We were doing about 40ish and I breaked fairly hard to make the entrance.

Totally my fault on that one, I always use my turn signal when turning, but I was worried about not seeing the sign for the highway, and I didn't want to get lost, didn't know where the next gas station would be.  And because I was a total moron for not thinking about the riders behind me.  And because I wanted to get to the suzuki dealer to see if my tank pad had come in.

First time I have ever done something like that in all the trips we have taken.  Wife is fine, she didn't drop the bike, she has alot more riding exp than I do.  She wasn't expecting my to turn right, so when I started to break she did but not as hard as I did.

No offense to anyone but you should always ride far enough back that no matter what the other person does (even spontaneous human combustion) it won't pose too much of a problem.

Granted I violate this rule with my buddies sometimes. So I'm a turd.

hey, blue05twin...getting back to the subject...I'm glad ur wife wasn't hurt.  I'm sure you learned a little something that day and that the chew marks on yr ears will go away.  They're probably not going to lead the next few rides!!!  Don't worry, you'll get yr status back.  Just be humble for a little while.

blue, I think you should now give up your wife. You're not worthy. You don't deserve her. I'd not make her do a stoppie!

Glad no one was hurt, and I'm betting that the next stoppie she does will be a planned one.
