It's not really custom, but it is rare.  I've only seen it once in a catalog, but I forgot what catalog and where.

I'm looking for roughly an 8" neon tube in AMBER.  For those that don't know what AMBER is...

ORANGE

First question...

Is it interior or exterior usage?  Also, can you post a couple pics?  One picture of the whole thing, another picture of the ends, specifically, how it mounts.

Also, can you tell me the dimensions?  I need to know how tall the unit is away from the mounting surface.

Thankz mak!

well they're built for interior use but I've used them in and out.  They're about 1" in diameter and about 10~12 inches long all together.  look on ebay for pics...same stuff.

The second item would be used as secondary blinkers for the front, but I'd prefer something a bit longer.  So far, I haven't really found anything EXACTLY like what I have pictured in my puny head.  And I don't remember my high school electronics classes to make my own.  I've got some Autocad drawings somewhere, but it's the nitty gritty stuff like what resistor and such.

I think neon tubes will be the best way to go, but if I can't find the right color, I'm gonna have to figure out how to make an LED module and make it waterproof, but still make it look proffessional.

I've thought about that, but they're not bright enough.

I was dring my cage behind a new Cadillac today (it was raining HARD).  I'm gonna try and get a junked LED brakelight from a car and possibly change out the LED's to amber.

Of course, that'll be much more expensive than making my own.  Plus, I'm guessing that a 3rd brake light assembly of an auto would be too big.

The LEDs are not just going to pop in and out.  They will be soldered in.

Go to a Circuit City.  They have those in their Import Tuner Section.  You will see exactly what you need.

I knew this.  you just have to use the soldering iron to heat up the old solder to remove the led's...  I'm just too lazy to learn the correct way of doing things.

I never thought of Circuit City.  They do have a somewhat large ricer section.
