I know it's Labor Day Weekend and all.......  But, I'm thinking that traffic might not be that bad on Saturday morning.

I was thinking of taking SR-530 from Arlington up to 20 and riding down 20 until I can't take it any more...

Seattle -> Arlington ~ 47.2 mi (about 1 hour 4 mins)
Arlington -> HW20 ~ 44.8 mi (about 1 hour 15 mins)
HW 20 -> Okanogan ~ 154 mi (about 4 hours 18 mins)

I don't think there's anyway in hell I'd actually ride all the way down HW 20...  But, maybe. :dunno_white:

I know nothing about the roads, other than I've heard they're cool...  There's a write up about the whole loop on Sound Rider.

I'm open to other ride ideas (lots of ideas on Sound Rider), but they have to qualify as:
    1)  Friggen Cool
    2)  New (at least to me) (LOTS of rides are new to me).
    3)  Longer than 4 hours round-trip.

I had an odd idea of motorcycle camping, but I don't think I'm gonna do it.

Stop planning trips when I already have plans.  How about the Saturday after that?  Or after that?
1992 Blue Monday, Wileyco, lunchbox, 150/40/3/1, Srinath bars, progressives, fenderectomy

Borak: How come Ogg use one spear, Borak need three?
Ogg: Not spear, caveman.

BAH!!!

I'm down for a shorter ride before that :D  ...  I think anyway...  Depends on how much crap I can get done at home. :icon_confused:

co-worker had found that bike on craigslist and thinking about checking it out. but he is a complete noob and thinks taht it is too nice of a bike for him to crash on.

I maybe up for a Sept 2nd ride. Assuming nothing comes up. I even may go all the way on 20th, then come down onto 90 and get to Norht Bend from the East.

That's a bit ridiculous. It's a cheap bike that's reliable. Hell, I've dropped it (at a stoplight :-(). It doesnt have fairings so its perfect.

Anyone going out tomorrow? I may go riding.

That's a LOOOOOOOOOONG ride.

Not realated to a meet, but meant to be addressed to Seattle riders.

As the days get shorter I find myself more often riding in a dark. Hence, I would like to ask if anybody would like to
team up and get one HID H4 dual beam conversion car kit and split the cost and the kit in half.

Something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BI-XENON-HID-6000K-CONVERSION-KIT-H4-Hi-Lo-Dual-Beam_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ36476QQihZ007QQitemZ170021518157QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Even at the asking prices it would come to $145/person. With Best Offer, pehaps it could be had for $100/person.

There's been a bit of discussion about why HID won't work correctly (here and other sites)...  Search around for it.  I wouldn't spend the money...  Just get one of the "Super Bright" ones.

I have plans for the 2nd but if they fall through I'd definately want to go. What kind of work scedules do you guys in Seattle have M-F 9-5 type jobs or the more erratic weekend/graveyard shifts? I work mainly on weekends which sucks but oh well.

ducati_nolan

Actually now that I think about it I'm supposed to work on Friday as well as Sunday so that kind of screws up my friday through sunday camping idea. So with saturday off I'll probally be down for a good long ride on sat! Hopefully some scenic, twisty two lane blacktop with some good food at the end of it. That's my Idea of a great ride.

RVertigo

Several of the frequent Seattle Area GSTwinners are 9-5ers... Or should I say, 11-7ers.  :laugh:

I don't know about the good food at the end, but HW 20 is supposed to be pretty cool...  You can read about it on the Sound Rider link at the beginning.

NightRyder

I so want to go... I just don't know if i should. I'm still pretty much a noob.

So, consider this a maybe..

We'll be riding right passed your house!

I might even pull over and ring the bell... .....  And be like, "Can NightRyder come out and ride?   AH C'MON!"

Well, the pace of the group WILL be set by who's there...  If you feel like going faster, then you can go ahead...  And if you feel like going slower, then we'll wait for ya'.

And if I go alone, I might just end up in jail.   :laugh:

It's gonna be sunny.....  YAY!!!

The day quickly approaches!

Hey!!!  If anyone wants to go for sure, send me a PM with your Phone # and I'll give you mine...

I'll call to figure out exactly what's up with what......

So far, I'm meeting one guy in Seattle and prolly one in Renton.

Depending on who is coming and where we meet...  I might take 900 -> 522 -> 9 -> Burn Road -> Arlington -> 530 -> 20

Like this:

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Part 5

The really long part that prolly won't be this long

NightRyder

So, the day is here.

I wonder how many will show.

The real question is where is RVertigo.

On a better note, the traffic looks nice. http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/seattle/

I'm still getting my bike into operating condition, but if you have another ride in mind while the weather is still good, let me know.  Any thoughts about an Olympic peninsula ride?  Even Hwy 101 is pretty scenic along the Hood Canal.  A run out to the coast would be great! :thumb:
