WOnderful ride today!!  Put the liner in, sans sleeves, in the perf'ed jacket and wore my winter-weight dirtbike jersey - perfect.  The weather was a tad cooler than my ride two weeks ago...natch that - it was downright cold!  So I was glad I put the liner in and the jersey.  Just went up 9, stopped and talked to a guy named David on an '06 600RR for an hour, and then took 35 to Alice's, where I had an omlette w/green bell pepper & onions.  Talked to another guy (Bob) on an all-original '70 Royal Enfield with, get this...a stock oil-cooler; this thing looked like a caveman comb!  Just big thick fins, and good thing as it's mounted right behind the front wheel, at the bottom of the frame.  Neat!
Next was down 84 to Pescadero.  After dispatching a GSXR750 and two cars, I was free!  Left onto Pescadero, where I swore I passed up this same pair of guys two weeks ago on the same road (one was on a sportbike and the other following was on a Harley, or other cruiser), I took it easy this time so those two turns wouldn't sneak up on me (maintained 40ish), and they didn't, but I did recognize them.  A few more runs on this road and I'll be getting it memorized (sweet!).  I was going to take Tunitas Creek back up to 9, but the wind was too darn cold!  So, back up (and down) Pescadero.  :)  Last time I took Alpine, so this time I chose 84.  Boy, am I glad!  I got to rip it up and some!  New tires really make a difference!  I went back to the BT45s, but a 110/70 in front (130/70 rear).  Sticky and very confidence inspiring.  :thumb:

Hope everybody had a good weekend!

Looking forward to Bob's ride next month!

Edit: p.s.: I got 62mpg!

Congrats!?  He's 22 years old!  :icon_lol:

Hey, that's a perfectly good age. :)

Glad to hear you had fun.  I'll be back in town on the 10th or so, and hopefully I can join Bob's ride.

Just out of curiosity, how fast are you guys going on these rides?
I've had my 06 GS about 3 months, put 1500 miles on it so far.
the past three weeks I've taken some twisties home from work pretty much every day (pierce road to mt eden, by the reservoir then to stevens creek rd).
I'm still a complete and utter noob, but interested in tagging along. :icon_mrgreen:

A few of us go fast enough to keep our attention (60ish, in a 40), but we can always tailor our ride (we always go fast, so why not go slow for the new guy and show him some lines, where to brake, set-up for the corner, etc?  We might even ride behind you to see how you're doin'  :icon_twisted: (And, then buzz past you and show you how it's really done) Just kidding; we pass safely with lots of room in the straights

I've done Stevens Creek @ ~35 to 45  I think the speed limit is 35.

I'm just itchin' for a slow ride...maybe we'll go to a parking lot and have slow races (slow races are where you go as slow as you can without putting your foot down for as long as you can before reaching the finish line (usually about two parking-width lines away)).  :)

I like beautiful days!
I expect I'll stink at following you guys (slow race or fast run) but I'm interested in becoming a better rider!
I'm also used to getting passed, my friends do it when we go to gokartracer all the time (another reason I need to lose some lbs, damn skinny asses).
Thanks for the warm welcome, I think the only thing you guys won't like is that I look like a power ranger (red means stop right?)
ps- doubt you remember me scratch, but I met you once a few months back, over at doug's cycle shop in sunnyvale.

Learning to ride better!  Doesn't cost much...:thumb:

Red gear! $300.00 :thumb: :thumb:

Helping pandy pick up her bike after she drops him....priceless...

Oohh yyeeeaahhh, I do remember you!  I remember the face, but I'm terrible with names, though.  What's one more power ranger among freinds!?!

There's always the Doc Wong rides...
