If the kickstand comes down just a little while in gear the engine will die. It sounds like you may have another problem.

u turn the key and nothing happens---no lights anywhere--so this is blowin my mind

I had a similar problem where I would go to start my bike and all the power went out. It turned out to be a very slightly loose battery cable. It wouldn't hurt to check all the cable connections and the  adapter things that screw on the battery. The adapter things on the battery is what actually became slightly loose on mine.

there is a 30 amp fuse next to the starter relay....right side near the battery
and there should be a spare fuse also

But it did blow for a reason when you went over that bump. You most probably have a chafed wire somewhere.

good, i did a gud deed today
glad it got you ridin' again

yup but it blew 3 more 2day so i took it to the shop to let them handle it since it is still under warranty---have u guys/gals heard n e thing about if u have stuff strate wired to the battery that it could cause the fuse to blow b/c their is some sort of positive current shooting back through the wires----jus wonderin

Uhh.. what?

What do you have wired to your battery? I'm no expert, but I'd bet aftermarket additions to your electrical system could invalidate your warranty, if they're not performed by a Suzuki certified technician. Just a thought.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

What kind of accessories are you running?  When I had my auxilary lights hooked up, my battery life would be depleted very quicky.  You may have hooked something up wrong, or the connections may be loose

I'm assuming as much. "Strafe" wouldn't make much sense, would it?

Not to be nit-picking, but wouldn't the term "hard-wired" be a better term to use?

I have a radar detector/3 outlet cigarette lighter thing hooked up so that i can run my neons--and yes hard wired would be better but i couldnt remember that exact word fo it :dunno_white: all the wires are correctly hooked to the battery so i dont know what tha heck is wrong with it

Do you have a fuse for your accessories?  If you're hardwiring something to the battery it should be like: battery -> fuse -> any legnth of wire -> accessory

Basically, you want the fuse to be as close to the battery as possible and the fuse in the cigarette lighter plug for your radar detector won't cut it.

In any case, unless your accessories are connected after the stock fuse, I doubt they would be causing that fuse to blow.  I would bet you have a chafed wire somewhere.  Did you take off any of the friction tape on any of the wires when you added your accessories?  All that tape on the wires is there for a reason.

Have you posted pics of your radar detector/neons yet? I'd love to see!  :thumb:

well i unhooked the neons and radar detector and it ran fine for about 30 mins then it blew another fuse so last nite i tore the bike down(removed all the plastics pretty much) and found that up front near the right front spark plug was a bunch of wires that were touching the motor so i taped them up and zip tied them to the frame, i also maneuvered a bunch more wires and retaped them so no i have run it for about an hour with no problems--also i am curious would it be ok to run a 30 amp fuse in place of the stock 20 amp and could i maybe put a 40 amp in it with no equipment failures///but thanx to everyone who has offered support  :thumb://o yeah i will try to get some pics up of the bike at nite with the neons on even though they are illegal ---LOL

I would't increase the fuse rating. If there's an intermittent short, that will still blow the fuse, and with the stock value you have more safety against overheating of wires and contacts.
