Oh yeah, baby.

Went for my first long ride today (70 miles round trip).  Met up with a couple of friends and we rode across the Hood Canal Bridge up along the Olympic Peninsula to a little town called Chimicum.  Parked the bikes along side the Harleys at the Chimicum Cafe, had a burger and pie, and rode back home.  Gorgeous Fall day here in Western Washington--even though it was sunny and warm, you can still feel the "autumn" in the air.  Got the bike up to 70mph and just cruised.  They've repaved all of the highways around here over the past two years, so it was smooth riding all the way.

Is it possible to lose one's virginity twice in one day?  If so, I pulled my first major noob stunt by dropping my bike at the ride leader's house (damn, it really is heavy once it starts tipping over).  Snapped off my right mirror against the leader's wife's car--which fortunately is uglier than my bike (the car, that is).  I guess my transition to bar-end mirrors will be sooner rather than later.

Now when my friends ask, I can tell them that breasts don't feel like "bags of sand" (line from 40 Year Old Virgin).  O0

That sucks, you laid your bike over on the right hand side today, and I laid mine down on the left side yesterday, and we both screwed up our mirrors  Oh well. You can borrow my stock right hand mirror till you get some bar end mirrors if you want. I think you only need one to be legal though and the left one is the important one. Glad the ride went well otherwise.
Later

Thanks for the offer!  I have enough thread left to screw it back in, it just isn't real pretty.  What bummed me out the most (besides dropping the bike) was that I had just finished hammering out / cleaning up the goof-ups of the previous owner.  Now time to add my own!

Got some beers chillin in the fridge.  Give me a call if you want to come over and help me drink them.

Sounds like you had a great time!

Me and my buddy met up and we rode around out near Carnation and Duvall, I know some pretty cool twisty backroads, although he has a Vulcan 800 so I went a little slower than normal through them. I could tell it was a great riding day as everyone and their grandmother was out.
