So i just ordered 250 dollars worth of parts for my bike.  I got a K&N air filter, jets (150 and 40 pilot), RaceTech springs .8, new Micheclin Pilot Active tires, and some other odds and ends that my bike was missing.  Hoping I can get all these things working on my bike.  Since I'm going to have my bike all torn apart i was thinking about buying a rear suspension.  Is the Katana switch worth the money??? And I have a 93, would any model year for the katana shock work?  Thanks for any help

A guy at my local Suzuki dealer had a GS and said he put 150's in it.  I have a K&N lunchbox and a supertrapp exhaust on it.  Right now it is prety lean and I'm hoping these mains will fix that

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof, is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools....

Thanks to advances in automation, Nike shoes will be made by robots. Unfortunately, the robots will be made by children in Malaysia.

Pablo's page is a great resource for information about the different shocks you can use:

The stock suspension isn't worth the metal it is made from; the OEM fork springs belong on pogo sticks, and the stock rear shock is there only to keep the rear fender from rubbing on the tire. I changed my front fork springs to Progressive Suspension springs (from MAW), and bought the rear shock from eBay (it came off a mid-90's Katana 600); I made those changes before I ever put mu (used) GS on the street; I'd ridden a stock GS previously, so I already knew how inadequate the stock suspension was. The GS was transformed by the improved suspension; I did a lot of other work to it (rejetted the carbs, installed new tires and brake pads, among other things), but I consider the carb work and suspension improvements to be critical. The GS is a great platform for any rider, but only after the suspension is sorted, and the carbs are dialed-in.

Those previous links should help you decide which shock to use; the next link has a step-by-step breakdown on how to remove the old shock and replace it:

Best of all, the Kat600 shock bolts right in; I doubt you'll find an easier mod that has such extensive real-world benefits.

Don't overlook the (minor) problems with the sidestand; raising the rear ride-height with a different shock means you'll have to use the centerstand when you park, or take other steps to deal with it. See one solution on that first link to Pablo's website; though some people might prefer to carry a block of wood to put under the sidestand, I don't like the idea that some idiot could come by and tamper with it, so I see nothing wrong with cutting and extending the sidestand.

Lastly, as Pablo also mentioned on that page, check your chain tension, and readjust it as needed. Loose chains are accidents waiting to happen, so treat yours with respect.

Good luck with this; I hope those links help you decide which shock to use. You seem to have made some good choices for upgrades so far; an upgraded rear shock will make you a better, smoother rider, because you'll finally have control of both ends of the motorcycle.

Typically 150 will be a little rich where 145 is about right. Not sure about the Supertrapp.
Common sense in not very common.

I cant remember what i put in my bike, I think 147.5.  I put them in when I did my exhaust and the K&N.
