I wear contact lenses.

This is my "contact lenses" story: In my first year of riding, I got on the on-ramp of a highway around 3am. My visor was flipped up because it was a warm night. I turned my head to do a shoulder check to merge, doesn't my left contact lens fly out of my eye. :thumb: So here I am, bombing down the highway and I can't see. I was with a group of riders so I followed them very blindly off at the next exit and down a bunch of curvy side streets. When we finally came to a stop, I had to break off from them to go home and get my glasses.

(that's as impaired as I've ever been, despite 1 head-on collision with a car last year with *only* soft tissue damage to my right wrist)

I wear contacts too, even with the visor down, if the mouth vent is open and i turn my head to check my blind spot at speed, air shoots right at my eye, and my contact gets all dry. I usually carry my glasses with me now just incase.

I haven't had problems with my contact lenses (knock on wood), but I do have arthritis (hips, knees, ankles) and a bum shoulder. Fortunately, riding helps me forget those pains (until I stop riding...then my body reminds me  :o ).

How the hell do you get your bum near your shoulder  :cookoo:

Or perhaps it's cuz the arthritis has made me a hunch-back....errr...hunch-bum?  :icon_twisted:

(There...anything gained by flexibility instantly lost! )

Do you suffer from a syndrome known only as

Shelf Ass?

A surefire test is to place a full glass of water on your ass while standing, if it doesn't spill you have shelf ass.

*pandy gouging my eye*

What a small world. I actually know Amy. I've known her since before she had surgery (gastric bypass). She's doing wonderfully. I believe she's lost about 300 lbs now, which is quite an accomplishment.

You can bet I won't be telling her how her pictures have been used here.

Bwahahahahah....

I have a friend who had the same thing. She is disappearing, it's like ZOMFG!

I did a search for "shelf ass" and that was the very first pic. Scrolling down though she looks to have lost the cup holding capacity.

Since pandy will probably gouge my eye (a lot) I'll nullify the link.
Rich, RIP.

Now that Fall has set in and the weather has changed, I've noticed a new impairment setting in--shrinkage!  I stepped off the bike after an hour long ride last weekend only to be greeted by a cold sensation in the netherlands.  Boy that windchill can really affect the length of my.....ummm....ride. :o

I found out a few years ago that I've got Degenerative cartilage, or medically called osteoarthritis, its common and starts in most people when you hit your 60's, but I'm only 32. It's when you cartilage starts deteriorating and wearing away and those areas that once were soft cartilage are replaced with hard bone. A lot of people think its just arthritis, but its actually very different than the common rheumatoid arthritis were your joints just swell and become inflamed. It bothers me most in the spine, and I actually find that the vibes from riding the GS makes it feel a lot better, I only hope this holds true for the older I get. And I hope we have better pain pills by the time I'm 60. Well, one can hope!
Being naked was great, but now that I'm older I thought I should cover up!!!!

Mods?  What mods, no really its stock!!

Yeah, Osteoarthritis is what I have, too, and I also started having trouble with it in my early thirties.  :o  And a big +1 on hoping for pain-med advances!  :thumb:
