Aussie parts availability

Hey guys, after having my GS backed into in the car part, do you know of any locally available parts. Basically all of the fairings on the LH side need replacing, as well as the indicators and clutch lever. The stealership's prices seem rather excessive compared to the parts available from the US. I've priced the parts in the US for US$433, whereas the parts without labour from the dealer came to AU$1350 :dunno_white:

Cheers

Im just noticing the same thing about parts from US v Aus parts i say go with the US parts they are cheaper and they are the same. Im just having an exhaust system come in from the states and compared to the Aus price its a steal the system from the US all full stainless steel is costing me $560 posted to me the only full system here in Aus is a magnum system with chrome mild steel headers and a SS muffler for between $640-$720 depending on muffler its no contest go the US parts it takes about 10 working days to arrive but when your down the pub with spare drinking money you appreciate your wait all the more :thumb:

Those prices look like the ones I originally found. The one that really got me was the rear plastic around the seat (just one side only). Over AUS$400! That's more than any of the other fairings on the bike.

In hindsight, it's a good thing that I didn't end up getting it repaired though

Hi Guys,

I found a parts supplier in Germany that can get genuine Suzuki parts for our GS500F even though this bike never made it to Germany.

The prices are 4 times cheaper than buying locally!

Example: for my 2010 GS500F model, the head/centre fairing that houses the headlight is priced at over $600 bucks from a Suzuki dealer in Sydney. The exact part only cost $150 from Germany! Go figure why so much mark-up on these parts here in Australia and then local businesses complain that consumers don't support local businesses and buy online overseas instead.
Thanks,

Oh yes I agree totally. When I had my gs the overseas prices were crazy cheap. When I had a guardrail excursion on my f800 I got my parts cheaper from the UK including shipping than getting from the Australian dealer.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Jalalski would you like to tell us who the cheap supplier is or keep him to yourself?

07 Yamaha R6 rear shock
Stainless steel brake lines
Diablo Rosso II Tyres
89 handle bars front forks
Airbrush hugger
rear fender removed completely

Sure can mate, I just wasn't sure about the forum regulations regarding naming suppliers, as some forums are against that ;)

In any case, it's Nuebert Racing Shop in Germany and their shipping rates (to Australia that is) are awesome as well.
Thanks,

Just bumping this up to see if any Oz mambers feel like listing useful Aussie parts suppliers. (Not talking generic stuff like aftermarket zorsts etc, -I'm thinking Suzuki/aftermarket parts, from filters, cables, gaskets, etc). I need some bits for my E build (camchain, tensioner, cables, filters etc) and it'd be good to get them at one place to minimise postage costs. The US suppliers charge outrageous  amounts for postage to OZ. UK postage much cheaper. But what about Oz suppliers?

Beam me up Scottie....

Open yourself an 'account' with a 3rd party shipper o/s .... There are reputable ones out there ... And have your gear shipped to there.... Then when you got 'your boxload' ... You on-ship it all at once......

OR ... You know where your parts are?? ... Ask one of the nice members here to receive it nearby for you.... Then they can ship.... Depends on size of course but private shipping is Easier.... And you may be able to collect a box of goodies for one shipping cost!
