Hey all.

My drive chain is pretty gross and I thought I would give it a good cleaning.  The manual recommends using kerosene for cleaning.  I was wondering what some of you folks use for regular chain cleaning/lubricating.  Any good tricks to make this important piece of equipment last longer?

peace.

a toothbrush is pretty handy too. basically, i just "ragged" on kersone then got the nitty gritty with the toothbrush. and dont do it like in your garage or something unless you have lots of boxes underneath because holy shizam was it a lot of dirt.....
the closer you are the quicker it hits you...

I clean with WD-40.  This gets ALL of the black nasty stuff off.  I clean that off with Simple Green or one of those "orange oil" degreasers.  Rinse well.  Ride for about 5 minutes or so to dry and warm the chain.  Lube with your favorite chain wax.  I use the Maxima chain wax.  Doesn't sling off.  The Maxima chain "lube" does sling off.  Get the "wax" variety .  Black can with gold label.

I clean with diswashing soap. I clean everything with diswashing soap...One of them hand washing types like Joy...
