wtf...someone actually screwed on another plate.  The only way I knew was that my gf said, "Hey, your plate is about to expire."  I had just paid for a two year registration.  I guess some jerk is riding around with my old plate.  I really don't care about the $17 it cost to replace, but the damn two hours at the MVD is where I draw the line.  And if that sucker got a photo-ticket at a redlight I'm going to have to electrify my plate for future determent.  Oh yeah, they also snagged my bike cover.    :2guns:

I think it's that time of the year...  I know several people that have been ripped off (including me) in the last couple weeks.

uhm.... few ideas.

run a razor blade across your registration sticker... makes it so they can't peel it off in one peice.

Use Nylon Lock Nuts... makes it take longer for them to take it apart.

Try to use hex head bolts instead.  Makes it so you can't just do it with a screw driver.

People trying to steal plates don't carry cordless drills with them.   Well at least the ones I know don't  :icon_rolleyes:
Pilot 22.5, Mid 65 , Mains 147.5, Mixture screw 3.5 turns out

Even if the voices aren't real they have some good ideas.

Maybe the thief was stupid enough to attach his old plate and not another stolen one.  :cookoo:

Yeah, the woman at the MVD ran the plate and said it was inactive.  I would have paid her big bucks to have that address!  :icon_twisted:

Riveting is actually a really good idea.   Pop-rivets, of course... easy enough to drill out if you need to, but as mentioned, the average hoodlum doesn't carry a cordless drill around.

That's a fairly common occurrence actually....It's pretty smart thief wise...You don't report it missing if there's one on there...

How often do you read your tag on your bike??
