That thread wont help.  Just shows that I have pulled a motor or two.
---------------------
I found that the easiest way is to remove the Left side (magneto) crankcase cover first.  don't forget to drain the oil.

The motor will slide right out if you do.
--------

After you remove the carbs, all thats left is the engine mount bolts.
(Suzuki recomends replacing these nuts after you remove them- I didn't)
Place a hydraulic jack under neath the engine, remove the bolts and with the left side (magneto) crankcase cover off, you should be able to just twist her right out.

Now, I did not have to replace the gasket from the crankcase cover.  I recomend you do, but mine has lasted 3000mi since and no leaks.
Who knows, maybe I just got lucky.

Good luck, and post pics of your work.  :thumb:

Good luck! Just a thought though. I bet the engine is seized because wheelies/stoppies completely deprive the engine of oil.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

who would of thought?   But ya its pretty easy , just have something supporting the engine from beneath like a jack or some wood stacked up and then take all the bolts holding it to the frame out.  But remove the carbs and headers and things like that, make it alot easier.  Good luck.  Have you looked at the oil pickup on that bike?  You might want to see about re routing it alittle to the back or over fill the engine alittle.  I havent looked at the pickup but I would imagine it would be too hard to reroute or lengthen so it pulls from the rear more.

Mandres

Getting the engine out of the frame is easy; putting it back in is not.  You have to angle it around the frame at just the right height to get it into position.  An assistant and a rolling jack with a large saddle are a must.

turns out my motor isn't seized. but i still took the motor out of my parts bike, it's pretty messed up though. so now i don't know what's wrong with my bike. i entered a burnout contest (i know, poor little gs) on sunday. half way through the burnout my motor died and it won't start. the starter doesn't even try to crank over. i'm just gonna take it to the suzuki dealership.
i know what you're gonna say......"well that's what happens when you don't treat your gs good. idiot."

i really get tired of hearing " doing wheelies is ruff on the bike . doing burn outs dose bad to the bike " i'v had my bike almost a year .. i do almost at least one wheelie a day ( on avg. some dose i dont bother others i'll do it two or three times just depends on my mood and how far i'm trying to ride it out . ) i'v got 13k on my bike and its running like a champ ( but i do change the oil every 2k and do all my normal check ups like i'm supose to ) oh and i'v done a few drag races at a drag strip  (i'v been there at least 3 time with at least 3 runs each time , i'v done more then 3 runs in a night but you get my point .. ) i do a small burnout on it each time (just enough to heat the tires up ) i know this is not doing a burn out contest but really ......... i'm just tired of it .. if the kid(s) want to stunt let them . dont like it dont comment . he was asking for some help not some piss contest on the things some of you think are "nood like, squid like, kid like "  .. gets old after awhile .. if you dont like somthing leave it short and sweet ..... i.e.   " i dont like what you do . get some gear " leave it at that .. he dont need a " you should not do this because" or " well if you where not doing wheelies and stoped ex. this would not have happen"  none the less .. what probly caused it was the fact that he may not have good mantince on the bike . or the  owner(s) before him may not have done what was needed and now that he has it ,its going to crap.

its in the "tard farm" section of the forum. Ya blowing motors is kinda expensive or at least breaking them some how is.  But then again paint ball is too and many other sports, just depends on what you like to do.

ducati_nolan

I don't care how people ride their bikes or what they do to them. I just say 'do what gets you off'   :thumb:

In regards to burnouts though, you build a lot of heat really quickly and since you aren't moving, you have no cooling airflow over the engine. When I got my new tires in the mail and set up an appointment to have them mounted, I did a bunch of burnouts  :thumb: I was originally planning on going untill it poped, but I decided not to after I thought about the possibility of the tire shredding, ripping through the seat, and slapping my balls off :o

I still burnt the thing down pretty far, but I would go for about 30 or 45 seconds and then I would ride it really easy for a mile or so to let it cool down, then repeat. Bunouts aren't as bad on a liquid cooled bike since they have a fan, but with the air cooled bikes you have to let them cool down after a while otherwise they'll overheat and die. But I'm sure you know that by now

I didn't f%$king do any of that. I told him why I thought his engine was dead. Then I wished him luck. And you can't deny the fact that wheelies, etc, are bad for an engine. Just because your engine runs fine, and you do occasional wheelies, that is not enough empirical evidence. Say my grandfather lived to 110, smoked a pack a day, and drank a handle of Jack every 3 days. Using your logic, it follows that smoking a pack a day, and drinking a handle every 3 days is conducive to longevity. Which is simply not true. It's a fluke. Think about it. Running an engine with little/no oil = dead engine.

He blew his engine up doing a burnout. I helped find him a replacement engine ....

Is your sage advice only for others and not yourself?

And as far as I can see you were the only one that mentioned noob or squid etc in this thread...... except for 505 and he's the guy that did the damage to his own engine.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Please refer to Pablos thread (above).

They guy had a question on a public forum. An open discussion if you will. as proven by Pablo's thread, the reply's to this post could almost have been predicted.
