yesterday i would have to say that i almost got into my first accident......so i was driving down riverside dr, 2 lane long ass street that spans from like in the 70s all the way up to like 168th st on the west side of NYC, and i see this car pulling out of a parallel parking spot but they are in the middle of both lanes...so i see this from a distance and im thinking 'there is no way this person is going to pull out into my lane' because i was riding on the left lane...so i keep going probbaly about 30 mph and at the last min they pull out right in front of meĀ  :o and pretty much stopped for like 5 secs before going along on its way, at about 15 yards in front of me..i press the brakes abd my back tire locked up so im just skidding down the road...i freaking skidd to the left of the car inbetween the midean and the car just missing it and had enough strength to catch the bike as it is about to dropp....(stupid me was just wearing chuck taylors)....so as i am picking up my bike this lady with a dirty look on her face asked me if i was ok...and i was like nodding to her..and shestayed till i got my bike up....she saw the hwole thing and knew it was that other person's fault.....shook off the bad vibe i was feeling and just continued home...

Lesson learned....DO NOT expect anyone to do anything right with a car...or even have any common sense with a car....and another thign i was getting overzealous with the bike....i gotta get back into thinking that everyone is going to kill me...haha...

AND ALWASY WHERE YOUR GEAR...no matter what..i just had my helmet, jacket, and gloves...i lucked out with not burng the hell out of my feet wearing just my chuck taylors....stupid me...

i remember reading some where that there are days when liriding that things dont feel right and you should just turn around and just head it home...like a vibe you feel when like everythign seems to be going wrong on that day....i def. felt like that yesterday, wondering if anyone got into that mind state.....
LIFE is LOVE...

Extend that to anybody you encounter on the road. It's not that motorcyclist don't do stupid things...

I got in a close call a couple weeks ago.  after a terrible day or driving back and forth twice to my college, i was coming home at around 8:30.. some old woman plain and simple just pulled out in front of me, no look at all just pulled out to make a left turn on a divided 4 lane total road.  I barely missed her, and locked my rear tire in the process.  She sees me finally about 20 ft from her and brakes, i end up a couple feet from her and she just looks at me then wants to drive off.  After already having a terrible day this put me over the edge and i started screaming at her, I'm not sure she was even conscious, she just starred at me with a stupid look.  But there is always some good in the bad.  On the road, car or bike, you HAVE TO be ready for anything.  there are too many terrible drivers out there.  Just try and think of anything you could have done better.  Thats my 2 cents

Sometimes it takes a wake up call like that to get us to remember. That motorcycles are invisible, Drivers are stupid, and Everyone is trying to kill us. You have to ride with that mentality and expect everone else to to the worst possible thing at the worst time, to stay safe.

Always leave yourself an out.

I hear you on getting those "signs" that tell you you shouldn't be doing what you're doing. The other night I was about to depart on a late night flight, and just had a bad feeling about it, I took off and the feeling was still there so I just turned arround and landed. Can't really explain it but something was telling me not to go on that trip so I didn't. I'm not a religious guy but sometimes something is trying to tell yo something. Or you're in a bad mood or state of mind, where you know that you probally won't be making the right decisions, just stay home.

Stay safe everyone

I couldn't have said this better myself.

As for "that feeling," I definitely get it. When things feel "off" to me, I'll turn around and go home. Listen to your gut!  :thumb:
