Ok so last weekend was wet and cold.  3 of us rode in the cold rain to #5 of our plan and then headed home. We talked about taking a second shot and doing the loop paul originally planned. We could meet same time (11-11:30am Sat) same place (McD's at lycoming mall).

So far here's whos interested, are there any others that couldnt make last weekend that want to try this weekend?

OK folks, heres the "final" route.  As you can see its pretty much the same as before just some added stuff there on the south end.  Heres a quick run down of how I see it going.

We will be leaving the Lycoming Mall McDonalds parking lot at Noon please try to make it on time, since we have lots of miles ahead of us, it would be good to get out on the roads on time.  :thumb:  You might want to be early to rest up a bit before we head out.

Out we go from #1 and we can all get gas at #2 so everyone is ready to go.  Up to #3 is tight roads newly tar and chipped  to #4 is rt864, curvy but bumpy (welcome to PA!) to #5 is rt87, nice swoopy scenery, after about a hour we will be at #5 Worlds End State Park, we can hang out for 15-20 min and gawk, then take off.

From #5 to #6 rt 154 is a mixed bag of nice tight to bumpy tight roads, some recent patch work should be complete.  West of #6 we will jump on rt14 for just a few miles then hang a left onto rt.414, not the best road but it makes the connection, and good views from the top a hill.  After we pass under rt15 we can stop at a Exxon for a few minutes and regroup/refresh.  We can then continue on and go down over the hill to rt287, nice open and curvy up to Wellsboro, then take all the back roads out to the PA Grand Canyon over look.  There we can hang out take pics etc, theres not a whole lot there, but last time I was there, there was a guy selling asorted maple syrup stuff, ice cream, cotton candy( :dunno_white:), maybe he will still be there.

Then off we go, retrace our route back down rt287, but keep going clean down to the turn off for #10 Little Pine Creek State Park.  This is where we can skip it or not, depending on how everyone feels, its a cool place to stop but the road in and out isn't very nice. Either way, we can then continue down to #11 and either jump on the highway and take the quick way back, or head out through Jeresey Shore and take the back way.  This will take us out over the mountain and through a predominantly Amish valley, back to the mall, or short cut over the mountain and back into Billtown for some eats!  :thumb:  (bargovic, start thinking of a good place to go where we could all go and have a chance of getting a table at 5-6 on a Satuday.  Is there a good Chineese buffet over there somewhere?)

Thats the deal, not the best, not the worst, but it is a loop, and without going to far you get to see some nice scenery and hopefully very little traffic.  222 miles total, 5 or more hours, # of traffic lights between #2 and #7, Zero.  :)

Anyway, all are welcome!  If your coming PLEASE post up before you come that way we can kind of take a roll call before we go.  I'll be checking this thread before I leave my place on Saturday.

Oh yeah and this weekends weather:
http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/17702?from=tenDay_topnav_undeclared

But the weather around here is never acurate until the moment it is happening, so sat's weather isnt for sure until sat at noon.

VMethos

Let's hope that forecast holds up and gives us a nice sunny day with clear blue skies similar to the past 2.   :icon_mrgreen:

Amen to that!  Lets hope the weather guys got it together on this one.  But we'll probably have to make the call on Saturday morning.

Forecast still looks good for Saturday, but it's only Wednesday right now, which means anything could change.  I'm still hoping that the "Mostly Sunny" holds true.

It could be a bit chilly even with the sun out, so I bought one of those balaclava things and some glove liners just in case.   ;)

Anyone else that missed the last trip for whatever reason planning on going?
The leaves are starting to turn color and fall, so it should be a beautiful ride if the weather cooperates.   :thumb:

I think the weather is going to be dry for us.  Do you guys still want to do the ride if its only the 3 of us?  Im game if you two are.  Its either ride moto on sat, or go mnt biking with a few others, and i have to let the mnt bikers know tonite what im doin.

pdg108

I'm up for it, even if its just the three of us, long rides are going to start getting really rare as the weather turns here this month, so I'll be going out some where either way.   :thumb:

I will still come down even if it's just us three.
Although, if that's the case and no one else is coming along, I might just meet you guys at World's End State Park where we stopped before, if that's cool.

Sounds good to me, no reason for you to ride that section of 87 two more times.  :)

If it ends up being just us three again, maybe I can meet Bargovic over at the Wendys in Mountoursville.

But maybe some people will jump in at the last minute here.... anybody, anybody... Bueller, Bueller...

haha... sounds good to me... I made arrangements to do the mtn bike ride another weekend.  I can meet Paul where ever is the easiest.  Do you mean the wendy's on east 3rd? weather still says 63 and sun, lets hope they are half as accurate as last weekend and we will be OK.

Unless someone else chimes in and wants to meet at McDonalds, I was thinking the Wendy's in front of Wal-Mart in Montoursville.  That way we can just shoot up 87 to Worlds End.

That sounds good to me; Wendys by Walmart.  You want to meet around 11:30 again? VMethos, what time is good to meet you up at world's end sp?  I think if we leave wendys by 12pm at the latest we would be up to worlds end sp by 1pm at the latest?

Between 12:30 and 1:00pm would be great.
It should only take me maybe a little over an hour to get there, so I'll leave close to 11:30.
When compared to leaving before 9 am to make it to Williamsport by 11'ish last Saturday, that sounds good to me!

Its only going to take us about 35 min to go from Wendys to Worlds End, so if you want to meet at more towords noon, that would be cool.  If I don't hear different in the morning I'll see you at 11:30.  :thumb:
