Theres your problem.  If you're on the friend ladder then 99.9% of the time the most that will happen between you and her is some drunk hookup (always good for a friendship).

Distance sucks.  I'm "somewhat non-exclusively involved" with this chick I've known for 5 years now whos 300 miles away (If you don't understand what that means good, cuz i don't either).  Well see what happens with that when I move back home.  Knowing my luck with relationships it will explode like some kind of nuclear holocaust. If it does at least I'll probably get another funny story out of it. I've got lots of those for some reason.

Haha, I know the ladder, makes me laugh when I look at it. I don't want the drunken hookup.. have avoided it before, when it was presented. The distance in this case isn't bad.. it's like... 10-15 mins by GS, depending on traffic. I go to Tech, she goes to Emory. Good luck with the holocaust!

My advice is keep your options open.  I've been with the same girl for 3 years now and we've been through it all.  Bad health, war, misscommunications.  When I was single I'd keep my options as open as I could.  Does this mean dating more than one girl at a time, YES!  I'm not talking about cheating on a bunch of different girl, but keep your calendar booked up.  When you find the one girl you really want to invest your time in, make sure she feels the same way about you.  You'll know pretty quick because she'll be urging you to drop all the other girls and focus all your attention on her.  It's a different life style, and it takes some getting use to, but once you get it down, it's a great ride.  Helps keep your mind straight too.  You don't end up all infactuated with one girl that doesn't want you the same way.  I've got some other tips on dating and relationships for anyone out there interested.  Just PM me and I'll give you more details.

Ya know.. you're like the 3rd or 4th person to tell me this... and yet.. it goes against every fiber of my being... I dunno.. 

Yeah it's suppose to.  You're a nice guy.  Nice guys don't date a bunch of girls at once.  Nice guys bend over backward for chics.  Nice guys go to bed at night frustrated and confused.  If you're a nice guy, girls will just take advantage of you.  I use to be a real nice guy too.  I was so into this one girl that I changed my life around just to make time to see her.  I'd drive for hours from my school to hers just to spend the evening with her.  She graduated and eventually ended up moving to my city.  One week later, she told me she was moving 1000 miles away.  I was busted up bad, but then I realized that I was being a retard and vowed to never let myself fall into a situation like that again.  I started dating alot of girls after that.  Some moved away, some lost interest, some I gave the boot, but I never felt bad seeing any of them go because I always had a few in reserve.  If one girl canceled a date at the last minute, I'd just call up another one.  Or I'd plan dates with 2 girls on the same night, and cancel on one of them at the last minute and go out with the other one.  Or if you really want to have some fun plan a date with 2 or 3 girls on the same night and meet up with all of them at the same time and keep things open and relaxed have a great time.  Did that once and it was one of the best evenings I had single.  Just remember that you've got a lot to offer, and you're the catch.  Any woman you give a second of your time to is lucky to have been blessed with it.  Also remember that women don't always think rationaly like guys do.  Their thought process is based more on emotion.  So don't try and figure them out too much.  Don't try and change to make them happy.  Don't settle for anyone who isn't willing to commit just as much to the relationship as you are.  It takes time to find what you really want.  When you find her, you'll know.  In the mean time, have fun and see what's out there.
