Howdy,

Yesterday as I was cleaning the gs, I got around to the rear shock and thought to myself, "I wouldn't mind adjusting that".

Now the problem is how do I do this.  I've tried using every tool in the toolbox, and then after that every tool that I could find  (Mind you there are a few tools where I live) and I still couldn't budge it.

Do I have to remove anything? I got the impression that you could just sit it on the centre stand and rotate it.

any ideas

Normaly there is a tool in the pouch under the seat.  It looks like a half moon with a notch on one end and a handle on the other. Non of my bikes came with the tool kit so I'm just going by other explainations.

You use this tool to turn the slotted coller on the bottom of the shock.

Or, as some have reccomended to me - Take an extention or equivilant and hit it with a hammer against one of the slots in the direction you want to go.

I kind of like the hammer method - It lends nicely to "Getting a bigger hammer" to get the job done.

But, depending on how much you weigh, you may want to upgrade to a better shock.

Check Pablo's web site.  You'll find a great discription of this and other useful mods including the "Fenderecotomy".  A must do!

I simply used the ext bar in the little pouch with the wrench and went from 4 to 6 with ease once I realised I needed to be on the right side of the bike to go the correct way.
Cheers!

Yeah I have tried using that wrench in the tool pouch but there doesn't seem to be enough room.

The hammer method seems like the shot.  Hammers fix everything.
