My brother was riding my 2004 gs500f the other day and did not take a turn sharp enough. Long story short, I need to replace the left fairing, the handlebars, the turn signal, and possibly the front fairing. Depending on the price I would like to buy the turn signals that are built into the mirrors. I saw some on a bike and they looked really nice. Also I would like to get some handlebars that are alittle bit lower. Does anyone know if I can replace them with the gsx bars? I looked on bike bandit.com for the fairing but I wasn't sure on what the part number included. I wasn't sure if the fairing came with the graphics or not. If anyone on here can please help me find parts for a good price and give some suggestions about the handlebars, it would really help me out. Thanks in advance.  :dunno_white:

uhm... GSXR's have clip ons... you have handle bars.

you can fabricate turn signals into your mirror if you want, but good luck at finding some that bolt on... for cheap.

I just used gsx as an example. I am just looking for some bars that would make me lean over alittle more. When riding on the interstate at 80 mph I have to lean down alittle so that I don't get whipped all over the place.

just buy dirtbike bars, they are way more comfortable and lower.

I just ordered new bars. Now I need to find where I can buy a replacement left fairing. I have been looking all over the internet for the past 4 hours. I am so close to throwing something across the room b/c I can not find one anywhere. Some one please help me. I don't want to ride around with a fairing that is cracked and broken and screwed up and so on and so on and so on.

i agree, conert it to naked, and get some engine guards, next time you crap off the damage will be quite small, providing its a small slide of course,
sell the undamaged fairing and you'll probly make enough to pay for the conversion :D
pod filters, costum r6 quill exhaust(no baffles)40/140 jets, heavy duty springs, sv650 rear shock, gsxr srad tail, bandit 600 4.5 inch rim with 150 tyre, gsx twin disc front end "1995 pocket rocket"  ridden by a kiwi in scotland

+1 on the naked conversion.  The bike looks so much better naked and will be a lot more durable.  Get some SW-Motech gaurds; I lowsided at the track at 40 mph and ended up with just a bent pair of $15 handle bars and a broken shifter

is it blue or yellow, theres blue farings for sale in the for sale section.

Thanks for the site. I just ordered the fairing, decal, and graphics for $175 shipped. The other Suzuki website I found wanted almost $300 for everything not including shipping. Now all I need is to figure out how to intergrate LEDs into my mirrors to use as turn signals. Any suggestions anyone? :thumb:

Integrating LEDS into the mirror wouldn't be that hard.

remove the stocks mirrors from the front fairing
pop out the mirror
drill holes for the led's, as many as required to make visible/legal
insert leds, glue in place
run black wire down mirror arms (maybe cable tie to them) Hard to disguise :(
ensure you have a resistor to keep blinking speed normal

Work out how your going to cover up the blinker mounting hole in the faring.

I have seen something on some bikes around town. I am not sure what they are. They look like pegs that are attached to the frame or the fairing. I thought about trying to find some and put them in the place of the turn signals. Not real sure if it will work, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks fellos and fellas.

Ah Oggy knobs?

knobs that help when your bike falls or slides?

if so, they need a solid mount running to your frame. The GS500 fairing doesn't have much structual support behind it so it doesn't really allow for them to be practical. Still, they might at least look ok?

Have you though of getting slim line blinkers instead of the mirror ones?

jpmire

I was reading some where on here that flush mount blinkers are hard for the other drivers to see. The last thing I need is for my ass to get hit because someone did not know I was turning. It looks awesome but the risks are to great. I think I might just go back to the factory turn signal. Does anyone know where I might be able to find some mirrors that already have the turn signal built in?
