That ride was loads of fun yesterday.  The twisty turns on the beginning of Rt 154... and the sweeping curves of 287, the view at the PA Grand Canyon (and the crowd), resting and talking at the Jersey Shore, and the Valley Inn all made for one fantastic trip.  The 100+ miles home on interstates 80 and 81 however, weren't quite so enjoyable.   :icon_mrgreen:

I probably put another 100 miles on the bike today just nearby to my hometown on the backcountry roads through the farming communities and around the mountains.  Finally found some of those cautionary "S" signs with the added "next 3 miles."   :thumb:
I wish I'd found those roads earlier in the season... but I'm just glad I found them.

Anyways, we'll have to get together for some more riding when the spring comes around.

  I just now saw this thread... I was checking on the original PA Grand Canyon thread (that I am subscribed to... to get replies), so I didn't think you guys were going to be riding again yesterday cuz nobody posted on that thread about it. I didn't check new threads. Sucks that I missed this ride again esp. since it was my suggestion to ride there, lol. Oh well... my loss. I don't suppose there's any chance of doing a Three-Peat of this ride??   8)

Pics look great guys... looks like a beautiful area to ride! Glad you had a good and safe ride.

Sorry you missed the ride Jules.  It was a great day, clear weather, and perfect temps once the sun came out.  I'd love to do a three-peat,  :icon_mrgreen:  but I'm booked up the next few weekends, and I'm guessing the weather will take a nose dive soon.  But hey, who knows.

Great pics bargovic, awsome animated gif.   Thanks for showing me that road coming into Duboistown, I'll have to try that out a few more times this year.

VMethos, thanks for coming down, good to here you made it home alright, it was a nice clear night with a almost full moon, even though it was a bit cold.  At least there was no rain.  I'll be keeping a eye on the rest of 154, I'll let you know if they get around to repaving it.

Great riding, great day, hopefully we can recruit more next time.  ;)

The GS500 is the safest bike on the planet, it can just barely kill you.

I don't want to miss the next one ... and if I have to, I'll just wait till the Spring.

Pics are awesome!!  Glad you guys had a fun time and a better day for your ride.  On a different note, Pastrana posted a thread about a Toys for Tots meet.  Check it out.

I'd be game for riding again should weather and temperatures allow it... but I too have commitments for the next 3 weekends.  So, early November would be a possibility if it isn't freezing cold by then and doesn't conflict with the other Northeast get-together that's currently being planned.

Very true, the ride home may have been a bit cold, but it certainly wasn't wet.    :thumb:
And definitely mention it if they ever repave that 2nd half of 154... that is, if they repave it and use a roller to flatten out the bumps.   ;)
