Pistion rings fry, and head gaskets blow. :cry:

i guess after 20k on the clock i jsut wouldnt take much to send it out on it last leg.


rehoring the block, now.
over boosted on first turbo. no pictures, camra was covered oil and no longer works that sucks even more.

Well in theory 7 psi would take the gs to 75hp (at the crank)

And 10 PSI would take it to 87 ish.

How long were you running that setup? Did you have an aftercooler (intercooler) I bet it was fun while it lasted! almost as much fun as an old 600 that cost less than your setup  :laugh: oh well... if you didn't like wrenching you wouldn't have done it. Hope the bore job takes care of it and you don't have any bottom end dammage.

Sounds like the head bolts or the head yielded.  Not that I wouldn't expect that to happen with an effective compression ratio of 15.2:1

I'm suprised it ran long enough to tear out the cylinder walls.

Increase the headspace and change to a later valve timing.  Don't try to significantly increase BMEP, just increase the duration of the combustion event.  Remember, motorcycle engines aren't exactly the most conservatively designed engines on the planet.
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

yea i had a replacement engine on stand by, never really got it on the road.

no intercooler, it was in suck though so... throttle resplonse was like, wot then 2 sec or more latter it would go some times.

nothign was realy set up right
no bov,
no waste gate, just right into the engine soooo.  yea i know that wont work, every interesting what happens when you let off throttle with none of this things. boots come off, mix goes lean, ect....ect...ect...

but now that i know it can be done. i will do it right. so


so i need to figure out after jennings how i am going to make this work.
after this track day on the doner motor i will work out all the details.

and if any one wonders a 98 gs will swap right in, just not all the 04 stuff is used (tps, mainly)
