I bought a gas tank of ebay to replace mine which has a few dents and scratches and I want to swap the gas caps but I can't figure out how to get it off? I've removed the screws in the gas cap ring that hold it down but I can't get the ring off. All I can do is twist 180 degrees? I'm guessing I'm missing something really simple. Can someone tell me what I'm missing?
Thanks.

Hehe yea, you have to open the cap up before the ring will come off.

Yeah, I learned that the hard way too!  The only problem was my gas cap wouldn't unlock, thus the need to remove it.
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

So destructive....  :)
I'll do my best to not wreck it, but something tells me I might just have to.

Sprayed some WD40 in there, took a deep breath, and twisted the key as hard as good sense would let me.  The mechanism was all rusty, but it came loose before the only key broke.   :)
