Has anybody noticed that there are harley V-rods (cruisers) with huge rubber and the street rod (the performance bike) actually runs smaller rubber for improved handling.

Well arent they running the 19 or 21 inch front rims?  If they are they probably run the smaller rear to match the front.  Or maybe its cause the rears are rediculously wide.  Probably just a mathing issue, like putting a high performance tire on the rear of a gs and a kenda or chengshin (sp?) on the front, horrible handling cause it will push real bad, but if you run both cheap tires front and rear it will have better handling with the tires reacting near the same.

I did...one of the first things I noticed...along with the beefier forks, hiked up ground clearance, and standard posture.  I'd rock a Street-Rod.

...but what does it hurt to want to make it easier?

It gets easier with practice.  No sense in compramising the rest of the bike.

In his case with wheelies it isnt really compramising his bike.  Because he uses the front or rear mostly independently.  If he were doing track days, he would probably be better off stock, just because its for looks in that case, but with wheelies it will help.

end of story is if your balance sucks it's not going to matter how wide the rear is.  He needs to practice.

B4 rims fit with mild modification...B6 and B12 wheels aren't worth the hassle.  Better to swap in an entire new rear end.

Whoever told you slow wheelies are easier to hold on wider tires is misleading you.  Watch this:

I'm not sure what he's running in back, but I assure you it can't be bigger than a 180.

It's balance, boy...it's like sex.  If you had it right, right off the bat, you'd be a moviestar by now.

Wait? It's not oozing with venom? And it's Mak? WTF!?
