First day out with my new boots and jeans.  First the boots:

The boots are great, they dont look like robocop boots and are very comfortable.  I was able to walk around a good distance even when brand new without having any pain in my feet or weird noises from the boots.  The flip side of that is that there isn't extrelemly stiff protection as well but it is a good compromise for me.  While riding, you can really feel the vents at work.  They kept my feet nice and cool, although it wasn't too hot to begin with, but the breeze is definately noticable.  If you are looking at some, note that the boots seem to run a bit on the large size.  I normally wear a size 13 shoe (depending on the maker) but a size 11 boot fit me the best.

The jeans as well are great, they look exactly like normal jeans.  I chose both the jeans and boots becuase I wanted low key gear that I could walk around campus in without looking like a goof while being able to protect myself at the same time.  During days like today, I can go to class then go out for a ride during a break of several hours until my next class.  As far as the protection goes, the inside is lined partially with some sort of abrasion resistant material and the knees have armor in them.  My only gripe is that there isn't any padding in the hips to speak of.

I got the boots for $200 and the pants for $90 shipped from buymoto.com for a total of $300ish.  At some point I plan on buying more substantial leather pants but for the meantime, its much more comforting to ride around with something between me and the pavement.
