I bought a rim off of ebay paid for it the same day I won it.  Waited a month, never got the item.  Left 4 voice messages, 6 emails never got a response.

A month and a month and 5 days I got my money back through paypal.  And I thought that would be it.  Then today I got the item in the mail.   4 more days it would have been two months. 

I guess I should send him the money through paypal if I keep the rim or just refuse it through the postal service.

Or should I just keep it?

I'm leaning twoard paying for it.

On a good note I got throuh all 5 seasons of Smallville and seasons 1-3 of Lois and Clark the New Adventures of Superman.  and my wife will not be back for antoher 2 weeks.  Gotta go riding this weekend 

That's awfully big of you, BUT... he never responded to you... play a little game with him:

1. Keep the rim.
2. Don't contact him
3. See if the jackass contacts you
4. If he does, make sure he leaves more than 5 voice mails and more than 6 e-mails to YOU. If not, then apparently he won't miss it.

Remember, you're still waiting on a response from HIM  If he had morals, he would have contacted you by now.

The only negative would be if he jacked with your feedback...

morally you should pay for the rim you received. Sure, he'sa prick for taking so long but you dont know why he took long. Maybe it was a family issue that took presedence? I would take the high road and give him the benefit of the doubt. You bought something from him that you received. You should pay him. I would deduct any costs you are out because of his timing, like additional paypal fees or whatever you might have incurred-but only actual incurred costs, not "made up" ones.

You're right, but I still don't think it's right that the guy never even contacted him. Maybe that's why I might be such a jackass back, but you know, in all seriousness, you're right, paying minus incurred costs would be the right thing to do.

I was just in a similar incident...  A guy in WA prepaid me to ship some software I get for almost free.  He knows I can only get one or two at a time.  Anyway, He prepays for 7 pieces, but after a month and a half, I can only get six.  I emailed him twice about what he wants to do...  I could keep the money and send the last software whenever I get it (could be a couple months) or I could just refund him the $90 he paid for the last piece.

I waited almost three months for a reply (ok... ok...  I got busy with life).  I emailed him again three days ago, and he responded requesting that I refund him.  He gave me a paypal address and I promptly refunded his money that same day.

I feel better about it now.

Yes, your seller could be a dork, but like Pablo said, you could be the bigger man.

Although, I could use a rim...   j/k

Pay the money.  Don't be greedy or selfish.  I learned this lesson when I was really young.  I was out fishing at this remote spot and my wallet fell out my pocket.  Had about $10 in it.  Some random person found it in the rocks, called the school on my student ID, got my address and mailed it to me with the $10 still inside.  I was blown away.  He easily could have taken the $10 and chuncked the wallet in the water.  What goes around, comes around.

Problems I've face n ebay have been primarilly over users not having an accurate email address...so they don't get messages.  Dunno about the phone thing, though.

My policy is that if I take an excessive amount of time to ship a normal item, the cost of shipping is refunded wihtout awaiting request for compensation.  So in your situation, that's what I would charge...send him the balance minus what he charged you for shipping and handling.

Where did the wheel come from?

Wheel came from Texas, only paid 78 dollars for the rim with the rotor and sprocket came off a 04, rear tire barly has any wear on it but senes I don't know the age of the tire I'm gonna replace it.

I'll send him an email asking where he wants me to send the payment, sense I won't get a response I'll wait till Monday and send the money anyway

Send me the rim. I will then dissolve your sins in the water of the ganges by washing that rim off the sin.
There is a small charge for that ... but I have some of that water sitting in my house.
OK we square - OK send me paypal and the rim.
