I've been meaning to do this for some time now since I've had the sport demons on my bike since early July.  I went with stock size up front and a 140/70 in the back.  

First of all let me say that overall feel is better with the lower aspect ratio tires on the bike. Before I had the old dunlop K591's on and they were 11/80 front and 130/80 rear.  The bike always felt skittish to me with those tires on, but i did like the way the front tire almost touched the fender.

The sport demons have been a great tire so far. They have excellent grip and the bike feels very secure even when i'm laid over quite far. When i roll on in the corners I can feel them hooking up nicely,  except for that one or two times when i was on those damn tar strips in the rain.

I can't attest to long term wear as we've had so much rain I've only been able to put about 400 miles on them since I got them, not to mention that I was gone for 3 weeks as well, but so far I am very pleased with my choice.

One final observation is that I feel that the bike is quicker to flick with the stock size aspect ratio tires.  It took me awhile to get used to how easily it dives into corners now.  

Hope this helps anyone trying to make the all-imortant tire choice.

Thanks for the update Jake and good luck w/ the new shoes...I'm still riding stockers ('01, 7500 mi) and will leave them on the bike over the winter..then go for new tires in the spring.  Frankly, I think I have too many choices.  For my riding style (average to mildly aggressive, mostly commuting) I'm inclined towards the Bridgestone BT45's in stock sizes, as so many are successful with this choice, and they are a good balance of performance/price.

Stock after 7500 miles?

Mine was showing the cords after only 3500 miles.  No burnouts or anything.  Just normal riding for a person with 3500 miles under their belt.

5500 on my stockers and they look like they have another 5K to go I can't wait to upgrade but I am to cheap to not use up the stock tires.

I got 7600 on my 01' stockers.. and it is showing wear. I can probably go another 2K before it needs replacing. If those cut like things dont give way first.

I am sure you are correct. I have had those stones step out of line more than once in heavy leans and it is no fun.
You can still get on them pretty haard, just not quite knee dragging
They are the perfect milage/highway tire. If I was still in Florida (shudder) I am sure they would be fine.

I thought Pantablo has a 150 rear...I would think he wants to use that on his GSXR one or is he gonna try for 160 on the rear?

I'm getting ready to put my Demons on my bike (finally). I got stock sizes both front and back. I'm expecting them to be a big handling improvement over my pinched Macadam 90x I have on there now. Will also be doing a sprocket change going to a 15t front and 40t rear at the same time. Between the drop in tire diamater and the shorter gearing my accelleration should shoot up considerably, as will my highway cruising RPM. But that's OK. It won't hurt millage that bad.

Sorry for bringing this old thread back to life but I just ordered a stock pair of Sport Demons for my "gisser" (<- a lame attempt to make GS sound like a GSXR).

Expectations are high but it will be at least two months before I can actually ride with them.  

They are nice tires.  I love mine.
