ohhh i like :) i'd like mine a bit higher :P but not much ! .. far as price .. just think ..how much did you pay for the products to put it togeather ..... did you use it all ? or just some of it ?  then say do it at .. 30 bucks per hour for how ever many hours it took you

Dmn decent!  I bet that would look tight with that hanlde off the back!  And I'd give ya fitty bucks for one :dunno_white:
Grind the pegs down with asphault!

I'd buy one for $40-$50 ... And I'd be happy with black OR silver ...

I love the cowl man great idea!!! have you ever messed with gelcoat?? If you waxed the one you made with mold release wax, sprayed it with gelcoat, then layered fiberglass to make the mold, you wouldnt have much, if any bondo to do...gelcoat makes awsome molds

cafeboy

that is fine if it is an outer mold but to get the nice fit that it has it has to be an iner mold.

With an outer female mold....vacuum bag, use a breather ply (like teflon cloth) against the part along with a secondary breather ply and you will have a good inner surface.

I am glad others are dealing with this hassle now.
Common sense in not very common.

cafeboy

but like i was saying it is a male iner mold to give it a snug fit. so it won't flap in the wind :cookoo: and it only needs one strap to hold it on.  :thumb:

But then you have a lot more work to have a good smooth finish.

thats what I thought, time=money

but a female or outer mold will produce a part that is either too thick or too thin. the cowl the way i make it is nice and snug. not too big or too small. hey a little more work is fine i love doing it.

All the parts I made, the way I described, were about 1/16" thick but extremely strong.

Seriously, when you get one made in black, let me know, I'll be the first to buy it ... or if you do it in primer, I'll finish painting it ...

RVertigo

++ for primer.  (I really gotta paint my 1/4 fairing too...  :icon_confused:)

cafeboy

they will all be primer.you have to paint to match.  8)

Yeah.. sorry bout that dude... Once I get back to school though, I can PROBABLY (assuming I get some cash, so I'm no longer -$40 in my checking account) go out and get some sand paper/spray paint to get that thing on. My bike doesn't currently have tail plastics, but the seat is still there. And honestly, it will look a lot better with your cowl on there, since the wreck kinda tore the back of my seat a little bit. I've been slacking on that, since I've been busy with school. I'll get on it ASAP, with pics and everything.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.
