This is my first post yet I have been reading around the site for about 2 weeks now. I was very interested in the GS 500 and a friend at work recommended me to this site. Yesterday I bought a 2001 GS 500 off of a guy on craigslist for 700 dollars. It has 13000 miles on it and needs a few things here and there

it needs a new tach cable, to be registered (8 months back) and a little TLC but for a running 700 dollar bike.

p.s. Check the For Sale section.  There are always people parting out their bikes and you might be able to find a good deal on a tach cable there.
