So my brother gave me his old watch, the battery was dead so I put a new one in and set the time but cant figure out how to set the day.  I tried seeing if the the "thumb screw" would do it but cant seem to do it.  I pulled it all the way out and set the time and I was thnking that I could put it half way in to see if that would work but it didnt.  Anyone have any clue on how to work this?

I think if it is Like all of the rest with the Date window. You pull the Adjuster out All of the way to set the time.Halfway (Or the first Click) shoud be the Date. ;)

Believe it or not, some watches require you to scroll through the time setting to adjust the date.  It's tedious as hell.  A quick way to check is to advance the time forward 24 hours and see if the day changes.

I've had watches that need bezel to be (1) pulled right out, (2) sort of halfway and "jiggled" and one that the bezal had to be pushed inwads, one-click-one-day. If it is one of those types get to the day before you want then scroll through the hours.

If it's not you are in for a lot of winding, hope its a nice watch.

If all of the above do not work, take the battery back out and put it back in when the date on the watch matches the current date.

While at first it might seem like a good idea to attach a drill to the winding mechanism in order to cycle through the days, it's not.

You may not have to go through the whole day, go past midnight till it changes, then backup to around 11:30, then go forward til it changes again, repeat as needed.

(Just guessing but worth a try.  :dunno_white: )

actually i did use a dremel on very low speed to do this once, it worked well imo, but again it was a cheap watch as well too, so...

If it does have a middle setting of the crown, this usually adjusts the date. You may have to hit it coming from the right position, though.

I have had a watch where this worked only when hitting the middle position when pulling the crown out. When I did from the all-outward position, the middle position did exactly nothing.

When it works it's usually one direction for the date, the other for the day of week (if that is present).
