(1) Richard Brooks, 50, was injured in a September incident in Concord, Calif., in which he became enraged at a group of bikers and drove toward them in his car, waving a pool cue with his left arm. It wasn't the bikers who injured him, though. Brooks got out, still in a rage, walked around behind his car, and was backed into because he had left the car in reverse gear. The collision knocked him into traffic, but some of the bikers pulled him to safety.

Why? Because they're decent human beings, even if the enraged cager wasn't. I'm proud of those bikers, and I'm proud to call them brothers/sisters on two wheels!

Yeah...I can see how you might come to that conclusion.

Or, Maybe they wanted him to live so they could laugh at him later.  who knows  :dunno_white:

Or maybe they wanted him to live so that they could kick the ch*t out of him later, but we won't know 'til THAT makes headlines!  ;)

As a cyclist for the past 15 or so years I've been spit on, had beer bottles thrown @ me, been run off the road, yelled @, you'd be amazed as to how angry people get because your out riding a bicycle. I don't ride in heavy traffic and try to get out in the boonies asap. Its crazy. Just like people that cut us off on the motorcycle, they only care about themselves. They did the right thing .
If it comes out of your body you shouldn't be afraid to hold it in your hand! :o

I'd have pulled him to safety.  The guy would have to be a child molestor or have a record of biting off puppies'/kitties' heads for me to let him stay there.

I recently got attacked on my GS.  [threadjack]

I'm just riding along and some crazy bastard brake-checked me (tires squeeling and all).  Confused, I went around him and he did a huge burn out and followed me.  I pulled over to find out what was going on because he was within 5 feet of my tire while going 35.  He screeches his car to a hault in the middle of the road (seriously) and flings the door open and takes off running for me.  I turned off the bike, threw down the kick stand and tried to get off so he wouldn't eff up my GS.  He was some big old fat hick in overalls in his 50's.  He comes running over swearing about how he's going to kick my ass...it was scary as hell.  Twice...he actually started to make a move on me.  Long story short, I talked him out of his road-rage...even though I had no idea what had happened.  It turns out, somehow he though I flashed my brights at him...?  There was a large dip in the road...it must have looked to him like I flashed my brights. :cookoo:

[/threadjack]

I would have rescued him in a heart beat.  He may be all eff'ed up, but he doesn't deserve to die while I stand there watching.

But only if he's wearing his "I'm not a kitten molester nor do I bite the heads off of children" t-shirt.

I actually had just gotten back from a 150 mile ride and was carrying a knife (I don't really know why...just in case?).  It was burried in my chest pocket under some other stuff and I didn't have time to grab it.  You hear stories all of the time of crap like this happening and I just figured people were lying.  Nope.  I was just riding along and didn't do anything wrong and shaZam! went crazy.

I am *not* a violent person.  I am extremely skinny and goofy as hell and I generally giggle a lot.  I have, since this incident, considered many times how to mount a knife to my bike.  Lame?  Yeah probably, but this random act of BS has managed to scare the crap out of me.

There's a gap in between my seat, tank, and frame on my TL and that's where it sits.  One end is angled (so when you swing it doesn't slip) and it hooks there nicely.  I've never had to use it in seriousness, but I learned to start carrying it years and years ago.  Unless I'm riding with a group of people, I've got something with easy access.

Two weeks ago, I would have called you a nuts bastard.  While you may be a nuts bastard  I can't say I blame you after what I went through.
